Well this was to easy to fit today. What an excellent bit of Kit And I can say 100% the damage this will stop will outweigh the damage to the van if I didnt have it 10 x over. Just need to add some foam around the old spare tyre holder have allready done the Bracket near the tow hitch.

WOW Ok I kind of agree with you Christian.

Only concern maybe is the angle bracket just behind the tow hitch as the guard is already pulling up against it . I have fitted foam that you supplied on the steel now. possibly it may have been better to have the tow hitch cutout another 50mm deeper? Then it would go around it. So many different hitch designs I can understand the variables here. If you think it will be ok send over the extension and we can try it out.

What i can say is It was dead simple to fit. It fitted very easily and by supplying all the screws and also tek bit for the screws was a nice touch.

I am over the moon with it.

yes at same address.

hahaha I know why @Stone Stomper is checking on you @Stephen Galvin, the previous owner of my van gave me his when I picked it up, he had a Prado (you could tell by all the black soot Toyota's leave on things) and when I fitted it to my Jeep I meletd the rear bumper because it was too low and blocked the exhaust when we had a massive tail wind coming home from Broken Hill over Christmas!! Another job to do before the corner I guess.

@DRW I can understand the flap being blown forward on a Jeep! It helps if you can drive faster than the apparent wind but even downwind the jeep obviously struggles :):)

My Toyota doesn't blow any smoke and what it does blow smells like Potpourri thats how well she is tuned :):)

But yes to keep Chris happy at Stone Stomper as he is a professional :) I will get a right angle exhaust pipe fitted :) Other wise I know I will be told to go and stand in the naughty corner :):)

Now can anyone tell me the thread and bolt size on these hubs as i need to buy Bolts and Wheel nuts for the The rear wheel holder and i want to use the same as is already on the van. I dont have a thread gauge. I think they maybe just a 14mm metric thread but not sure ??

@Stephen Galvin
I bought a set from Repco (Took a wheel nut with me and checked) and details are:
1/2" UNF, 43mm long - 13/16" Hex AF

OFF TOPIC
(Expecting sarcasm from a jeep owner)

OK some more advice Please .........Jeep and Patrol owners probably not worth wasting there time reading this :)

Thinking of trying to boost the Cruiser power up a bit as is stock standard 2002 100 series Turbo Diesel Auto.

Thinking of ways to go. Has anyone just up graded the exhaust and not worried about the chip? If so what were the results?

I am thinking going to 3" exhaust and maybe a snorkel to get better airflow.

I put extractors on my old HJZ175 trayback (non Turbo) and the difference was massive so much so I didnt worry about a turbo. Not top end but quicker to respond to acceleration.

The guys at ARB said I would achieve a much better economy due to being able to not have to use so much accelerator? as the engine would spool up quicker. Now this is what happened with my trayback but that was extractors and 3" pipe.

They use Taipan exhausts and it runs around 1700 fitted by them? another 7oo for the snorkel but I could probably do that myself although nervous about cutting into my car:(

Also not sure whether I should bite the bullet and get the head gasket and injectors done first as at 320000 km she could probably do with it although you know what happens when a mechanic starts a job like this !!!

I could just do with some more low end grunt and a bit more overtaking power.

Also what success have guys had with chips? No BS just honest about there results..
