I used 60mm RHS with one side cut out and 50mm for the tyre mount, I fixed the slop by tacking in some spacers actually 25mm rural gate spacers where the pin and hinge fit, that also gave a bit more meat for the pin to wear on, also has a bit of rubber lining just to keep any movement to a minimum.
I have a cunning plan for a spring latch instead of the pin but needs some HD concentration to figure it out but may require taking the whole bar off to complete, too hard ATM.

Regarding your chassis that certainly looks like a corrosive effect on the Gal, I would be doing a clean up of the whole thing and painting with Galmet then using a chassis paint over it. Something in that mud certainly reacted.

Yeah I agree I have some black stone guard paint So I might etch prime it after a proper cleanup and paint it with that. A bit worried about under my car now. Thing is it was raining heaps on our trip and the van got a good wash from the hwy as well this reacted very quickly. I have never seen it happen like this before on any other trailer. makes you wonder what was in that mud doesn't it?

Hi @Cheyne78 Where are you located ?I am making the rear wheel holder this weekend As the company does not do steel work, only stainless and ali, its a contamination thing.

I will be making a simple setup as on this forum I can make two if you like it would only be a few bucks for the steel.

As soon as the box is made I will have pics up here it is getting done in Mandurah and there quality looked good it is costing 800 bucks with the Gas bottle holders and sniped corners. But should be stronger than some others? And with the Mc Hitch I think my turning circle is slightly higher than other hitches.Yours probably would be ok with square corners as others have wider square boxes and are fine. I get more than 90 degrees out of my cruiser and hitch and didnt want to risk taking out the corner of the car and box.

The company is called Stainless and Alloy Manufactoring PH:95818338 email: stainlessa@bigpond.com and Chris is the one to speak to. No Affiliation.

I actually got there number from someone here but cant find the post ? So whoever it was thanks :)

Galvo

You got the number from me. I can def say you will not be disappointed with Chris he is a great guy and great quality workmanship.
When we get our new van we will be getting some work done from him too.

Lazy Day today just chillin and hangin out with the kids. Had plans for the rear wheel rack but a netball on Sat and Wifes Sleeping today as working Nightshift It never happened . So instead I'm trying out the new Van Barbie. Has heaps more room than a Baby Q but is a similar overall size and 100 bucks cheaper. Tried some Chocolate brownies the other day but burnt the base which is an issue in small barbies so trying out a Hi Tech new approach. Getting the base away from the plate and air flow all around Will let you know the results :) Anyone know where you can get Square Pizza Stones?
