This news article caught my eye tonight with a person upset at the WA border control
What was she trying to hide to do such desperate actions?? And what were those flaming items being thrown out of car? Also very dangerous hookup to tug - too much weight on ball or tow hitch too low. Definitely not a good getaway rig!!!!

Hi,
if you look carefully, the van has clearly come off the towball and is being dragged by the chains. In some of the shots you can see the gouges being made on the road.

take care
Mike

Thought it might have been a Vic trying to rush home !Seen similar at Rubyvale Cpk this year.Elderly gent took off with only chains attached went about 50 feet before a guy finally got his attention. At Roma a guy could not get the hitch off the ball ,in the end levered it ,away the van went rolling into the toilet block. No van handbrake on! In the last couple of years there seems to have been a big increase of vanners who have no idea how to reverse ,set up tow vehicle van balance ,maintainence etc.Even the NRMA said earlier this year a big increase in van accidents due to inexperience ,and medical episodes ,and that some Grey Nomads should reconsider or not be on the road because of serious medical issues.!

The number of drivers out there with serious medical conditions is getting worse in the last couple of years we have seen a few instances where the driver is bedridden in the van and the partner does not drive , but they still get to move on usually with help from other travellers and van park staff, one of the worst cases we saw was a gentleman with very serious heart issues and his wife with dementia wandering around a bush camp near charters towers trying to find out how to get back to south Australia for a medical procedure. Neither the police or the transport department can take their licence until they actually have an accident, only a medical doctor can get a licence revoked on medical grounds one of the issues is when they sell their home to get a van to live the dream, and as they decline they can not afford to get out of the van and back into stable accomodation CATCH 22

She was successful in her attempts to leave Australia, she managed to get into Western "place" the former state of Australia. She was probably mumbling in WestOzEze

Just a desperate refugee escaping from the oppressive eastern bloc to the new republic where freedom beckons. (at the moment). Our new emperor McGowan will probably send her back though as we are quite fussy as to who we let in of late.

Ooopppsss, thats something I think we copied from the Westralia rePubLick...... to enter the rePubLick you sneak into NT for a coupla weeks then swing into the new rePubLick thru the back door of Kumumurra, (named changed to trick people) ................................

i have been there a few years ago ,when our kids were young , a very strange place with a population of a zillion flies
I had a personal audience with the Prince,. To save time he stamped Departure Visa on arrival, Hutt River immigration was super efficient. The Prince was wise enough to stamp the Departure Visa upside down to make it look like it was done at another time

He had the biggest ears I've ever seen, and I suspect his glasses never fell off

I was invited to sit on the throne, and since then I've insisted on being called Bonny Prince Crusty, Lord of the Reno .... I'm not sure how the Princess continually gets that wrong, it doesn't remotely even rhyme with 'dickhead'

My vent, rant, anger is now with Jayco dealers in Victoria not offering any sort of handover during lockdown. Whilst the continue to accept deliveries of vans into their yards, which will only add months to handover wait times.

Jayco Sydney have worked out a way to conduct them, as has pretty much ever other caravan manufacturer in Melbourne.

Car dealers can do contactless handovers, boat dealers can do contactless handovers, and infact Bayswater Jayco conducted them during out hard lockdown last year.

Wait 12 months for a van build, and at this rate I'll be lucky to have it before the end of the year.

Some people are even reporting having paid for the van in full, now paying for a loan and insurance on something that is being withheld from them.

Getting angrier by the day!
