Friday off to the Brisbane 4x4 expo and Tinnie & Tackle show at the Ekka. Have checked as many prices as possible for bull bars and canopies from local dealers and will go to the show looking for bargains. Hopefully as I have prices from the major brands I wont fall for dummy "show specials". The BT50 might end up dressed up a bit. :drum:

What way leaning @chartrock
Possibly powder coated alloy bull bar (non winch) from ECB but more thought required. Canopy possibly from ARB or an Aeroklas. Both about same price but the Aeroklas windows are a bit smaller in height but they have better racks on top.

Decisions decisions. :noidea: Will have to spend time tomorrow going over it all. Never even looked at tinnies or fishing gear.

Some are rated at 75-80 Kg but we have asked for the heavier duty which take up to 150 Kg. No boat on the horizon yet.
How will the powder coat take to the alloy in regards to chips etc?

The powder coat is a hammer tone finish (mottled grey) and can withstand chipping very well. It also weighs only 35 Kg as opposed to steel at 75 Kg.

For a long time I've been partial to ECB bars for their looks. I would have had one fitted to the RTV but it came with another on it already and I doubt that I could have convinced the wife that the money was worth just changing it. For the Ranger my first choice was the ECB with the winch capability. I don't intend to fit a winch but felt that it might improve resale sometime later on. Also, from the pictures and an example I saw up here, it appeared that the winch version with it's added holes allowed for greater ventilation and therefore cooling capability. I've fitted some black mesh to the inside to stop potential stone damage as there was a direct path to the condenser and radiator fins. Ours is a powder coated one but hasn't yet had enough usage to see the long term durability. I think it's the silver hammertone one and it does clean fairly easily.

Spent the day at the caravan and camping show. Very happy we got last years 21-64. Ended up buying the shade side and end for the awning, 2 Waco fridge slides for our engle and BBQ (waecos were so much better quality), a caravan cover (the new type which has a 3 yr warrantee), a 24 inch 12V sphere tv and mounting arm.
Not to mention drinks and food, which cost almost the same as the rest of the stuff.
Saw some really nice vans, and got some ideas about our box that we are going to get made to house our bbq and engle.
Was a good but tiring day.
