It's the first time we've been there, and it was busy but not too bad. It is a huge area so it's hard to imagine it getting packed. We might shoot down at Christmas and check it out. That will be the tester!

Bendeela is a.great spot, so close to home for us, unfortunetely it isn't pooch friendly so we have to settle for the Glenmac CP just down the road which is and also allows fires but does get a bit sloppy after.heavy rain

Hey mfexpanda, Just curious with your pic with the weber and gas bottle sitting underneath and got me wondering why you are moving gas bottles around.
Have you got something else sitting on the front of your drawbar instead?

Geez time to catch up on this thread :) been slacking off!!!

Its great to see so many people out and about enjoying life...

That looks great, expands. I bet the kids had ball, I have no idea where that place is but it certainly appears worth a visit.

Hehehehehe little secret NO KIDS!!!!!

Left the family at home, stranded with no car and no :smash:

It was a blokes weekend full of orange guns, beer cans and other items I care not to mention......

Great weekend to unwind!

Not the best of weekends just gone, just got back after 6 odd weeks in Melbourne with the very sad new that one of my younger work mates, aged about 34 to 36, has 2 young children and has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has 3 to 6 months to live. Spent Fri & Sat trying to organise some gear to go towards items in raffles and auctions on his benefit day to raise funds for him & his family.
It totally amazes me the generosity of people and business as to items donated along with cash to help such a great young guy and his family, hopefully now he can get some treatment to help him on his way to being cured.

How thoughtful of you, its with mates like you that just make the little things like all that more easier to manage when going through something like!

My thoughts are with you, his family and all involved do let us know if we can promote the cause in any way on this site as we would be more than happy to help I am sure.

Got home 1:45pm Friday arvo hitched up the Panda rolled out of the driveway by 2:30pm, Arrive at 7 mile Beach Tourist Park (Gerroa)
350pm, glad we booked, the place was packed, Tents campers, vans and not to mention the Cabin dwellers, ther sure must have been a lot of kids off school Friday (yes including mine). managed to squeeze into our site said g'day to the neigbours behind as I set up.
Wasn't long before we had neighbours next to us as a couple rolled in with a fairly new looking Eagle Camper (on road).
They were interested in having a look at our Panda.

Friday night the heavans opened (nothing unusual about that on my trips). Saturday was overcast and but mostly dry with just a lazy day, Sunday with a late check out and fine weather no need to rush about so a trip to Berry Markets was in order, but not before folding the beds in.
back from market around lunch time and headed off around 2:15pm (had till 4pm).

Expecting Photos?

To bad, there isn't any

Looks like a nice spot that van park...

Is there river access from the park at all?

Don't bring that rain down here at the end of the month

and as for no pics...................did this trip really happen

I think you are in trouble!!!!

What did I do....... Well I use to race atv (quads). So I thought I'd give it another go. 3hrs later, and a bit stiff and sore ( I am 42 ). A mate blew up his motor... I did enjoy it but I'm selling the quad. While riding, u have time to think..... And I need a generator for the expanda, sooooooo, the quads got to go. A new chapter in my and my families life is about to begin. Cheers. Hope to see you on the road.

How did he blow his motor up??

Generator vs Quad easy decision for me but I understand how hard it can be to make the call!

Let us know what generator you decide on and how you fit / store on the expanda...

We went camping this weekend at Bendeela. Great spot and free too. Grass was nice underfoot after our last trip! Why pay a caravan park for a dirt patch full of bindiis* when you can camp for free on a perfect lawn?

We had a great time, canoeing and swimming in the river. No fires at this spot but there is drinking water and toilets if you need them.

*Our last trip was a shocker at a CP near the entrance. More bindiis than I've ever seen before or thought was possible and staff did not care. I would have written a bad report but didn't want to offend or bring down the tone of this site.

Its a lovel spot there I am hoping you got a meat pie from the general store?

There is a beatufil rock pool about 15 minutes from there PM me and Ill send you the google map.

Its a bit of a bush bash but well worth it....

We usually travel from Sydney to the rock pool stopping off for a pie and milk shake at the store before a swim!

Looks like a great spot...

Any yabbies in there!!!!

Took a drive out from Bright over to Falls Creek for the day last weekend.
Found some snow for the kids to play in too..

Walked out to Wallace's Hut for a look, very pretty up there in spring/summer.

Expanda's mention of orange guns brings back memories. Mum wondered where her hairspray went, but was happy we were into oranges and all that vitamin C.
Maybe one disguised as a pole carrier could be a great mod?

Yep river access for Canoes/Kayak etc near by boat ramp for anything else, also beach access from park.

The park is divided in 2 by the road West side is Office powered grass sites and mostly Permanent vans, pool, camp kitchen + seperated cafe and avery.

East side (beach side) Powered slab and grass site as well as ensuites *Try posting a bit more so your post isn't boring* Cabins, camp kitchen, pool, playground, and is well protected from coastal winds etc. short walk onto beach.

Looks nice relgate, do you have solar for charging or didn't you need it?

Cheers.

Hi Burnsy
We have solar (about 120 Watts) but the battery never seemed to loose charge! I reckon it could go for days without re-charging. I have LED lights and the only other users are the pump and 12V heater ignition. Our main issue was water. We went through one tank in 24 hours, and I thought we were being frugal! I suspect my wife got up after I went to sleep and had a long hot shower...

Have you been there in peak time? What is it like then, easy enough to get a spot and not too many hoons?

We went to Bimbadgen Estate on Saturday for "A Day On The Green" with 3 other couples. The line up was James Reyne, Boom Crash Opera, The Angels, Baby Animals and the Hoodoo Gurus. Had a blast.....hired a limo for the ride up and back.

Only ever driven into Bendeela for a look a few years back it wasn't to busy then but reckon it would be busy at peak times

We stayed at Glenmac CP on the June long weekend was reasonably busy despite being a crappy weather wise through the sites are big so not squished in
the amenties are Ok as well.
