Hey Moto, I was up at the Brisbane Caravan Show today and took some pix of a 14-44-4 Outback.

Hi Chartrock I hope you wiped your feet before you went in for a look cause we went up to the show for a look and ended up buying that very van :o .
I also noticed how low the ball seemed to be, that 50mm plate did you get jayco to fit it or did you fit it later.

Would you believe I took my shoes off and went in barefooted? No, I didn't think you would. ;) I hope you got a good deal from them.

I had the 2x25mm plates fitted by the Jayco dealer at Tweed Heads, figuring if anything went wrong or there was an insurance or some other type of problem then I had a comeback. Not that I can see any prolem, just covering my rear end. I would still prefer to have the tow hitch on top of the draw bar.

If you don't mind me asking chartrock what did they charge you for it?

You are right to better to cover yourself and have them fit it especially for warranty as well.

Really love the van mate she seems like a beauty!

All the pics just keep making it better :)

Mine cost $200 supplied and fitted by the dealer. I think about $140 supply only.

I was quoted $80 but charged $100 and felt hard done by and that was a Jayco dealer.

You must have really been  Moto.

SSSSHHHHHH..........don't tell the Patrol, but today i was unfaithful, i took the Expanda for a spin with my work truck.

We have two 4wd's in the driveway and one has to go. Unfortunatley, I think the the Patrol's days are numbered:Cry:

So did bushman end up getting the spacer as well.? I only found out about them because I mentioned to Robert what I was going to do and he said they supply them. Never asked for a price and won't now, that is ridiculous. I can live with the van nose up, just makes it hard when staying hooked up overnight. I think I will wait until anything I buy will be out of warranty and then weld a hitch mounting plate to the top of the chassis.

BTW the van looks fantastic, it's a great package that new model.

Did you get all the issues sorted, we are getting a lot of options as well, any more pics yet.

All i can say is Jayco have asked to have my van for a week instead of a day on its first service.

Apparently the bike rack / number plate issues halted production of this model last week while they looked into a solution. Other than that all the other issues are pretty minor and will be fixed at the first service.

Here is a few random photos. Sorry not many of the inside.Gerroa 2.JPGfarm2.jpgfarm1.jpgcanvas bed fly.JPGhyland.JPGcolorado.JPG

Spacer Plate

Is the 50mm spacer there to lift the hitch so the nose does not sit to high, does it not sit level without it.
Can you still access the rear boot with the HWS there.
Thanks for the pics, it always helps when you are waiting for your own to get built.
Keep the tips coming.

No worries,
50mm spacer - yes now sits level. Depends on your tow vehicle. If you are towing with any 4wd i would recommend the spacer.
Rear Boot - yes access possible, but from inside only (lift up bunk bed). I got an extra external access hatch put in next to the HWS that allows access to under the robe from outside. This is near the shower so a good spot for towels, soap, etc.

Let me know if you want photos of anything in particular.
