I'm really tempted to replace all the nuts as there not the best with a standard Wheel brace. But in saying that It makes it harder for someone with a standard wheel brace to thump them!! as you need an extended socket 21mm. the wheel brace jayco supplies does not work and never will. Good for rowdy neighbours is all :) And a great mackerel whacker i would assume :)

I carry a long handled socket bar with a 13/16" (from memory) spark plug socket to use.... Was supplied an extendable wheel brace with extended sockets with the trail-a-mate and that now sits in the Prado's rear drawers. Fits the Prado and Expanda wheel nuts perfectly :)

OFF TOPIC

Patrol owners probably not worth wasting there time reading this :) but if you want the best, I will tell you
Thinking of trying to boost the Cruiser power up a bit as is stock standard 2002 100 series Turbo Diesel Auto.
Thinking of ways to go. Has anyone just up graded the exhaust and not worried about the chip? If so what were the results?
I am thinking going to 3" exhaust and maybe a snorkel to get better airflow.

right, I am way too late to advise you
but
get your bum over to United Fuel Injection on Gt Eastern Hwy Redcliffe
go to the Back - Performance section, speak to Matt Craig
what he dont know about getting more herbs out of your Diesel, hasn't been invented (400Nm out of a 4.2 Patrol........standard they are like 265Nm...)

let him honestly know what you want to do, and what you use it for, and he will advise you on what to do.......
you can tell him I sent you..........

@bigcol Thanks mate about to watch it now.

I dont know much about cars really just the usual change an alternator fan belts ect and a few others, but engines I am clueless.

I just figured I am down a bit on power and economy also, have been adding some injector cleaner last few weeks and it seems to have gotten a little better but that could be me wishing it as well.

new mechanic has two 100 series both chipped with the bigger exhausts , from previous experience I think the exhaust is probably the biggest boost with out messing with an engine.

I am getting the injectors done anyway as it has done 320000kms and it has never been done. So just figure it needs doing . Got few oil leaks as well think from the cover not head gasket? Also steering pump is leaking a bit have got some stop leak in there but it needs attention. I just wish mechanics rep, aced the seals instead of 500 bucks for a swap over. Almost tempted to rip it out and have a crack have the seal kit here cost 30 bucks. But I know i will probably stuff it :) Anyway watching the vid now.

I do remember reading a draft proposal I think regarding caravans for Federal Regs where the gas bottles are not allowed outside the draw bar !! but since mine are in the boot I didn't take much notice, I think a mention was made about jerry cans as well...................I just don't know where I saw it.

Tool box all fitted up now with modified bottle brackets to mount the bottles. Pigtails were just to short when straightened and couldn't find anything locally but just found some 1m long ones on ebay which will be perfect so hopefully next week I should have the gas up and running.

@Stone Stomper Chris the plate arrived on Fri thanks again I will fit up tomorrow or next week sometime . Thanks again..

Maybe the go is to put a diesel jerry can (yellow) and put my unleaded in that :) Then no one is the wiser :) Will have to find a spot for diesel anyway, Most times I think the unleaded will go in the front box which means I need to add some vents as well :) But most trips I won't be that far from fuel. But Warroora coral bay is the closest.

Have the new exhaust and snorkel on didn't make as much difference as I hoped, Definitely not like adding extractors. But there is a small difference for sure , The turbo sounds louder has a nice note to it but not any louder well I cant tell any difference. Seeing if it made any difference to the economy but car goes in on Mon for injectors to be done and service, hopefully its all good. Will be good to get a mechanics opinion that actually has the same car well two!

On another note I now cant get water from the front tap ? kitchen sink works ok will see if there is an air block in the valve and attach the mains to see if I can get flow that way?

Ok completely stumped with this front water line to the tap?????????

All I did was disconnect the tap I have not touched the black water line not cut it or anything. I have added a connector and some more line to extend the tap thats it and now I cannot get any water????

It goes back to a T piece with one line having a pressure valve but even under mains i cannot get water through it?

I am a bit stumped!

Remove line from tap and see if water runs thru the line, if it does the valve in tap is jammed/stuffed.

The only thing you can do is work your way back thru the joins till you hit water, I do know on my rig I ended up flushing my lines as when I was doing some mods I found bits of plastic swirl in the lines which would eventually block something.

Got me stumped as everything else works . Must be something simple surely? I haven't done anything to the line and it was working fine? Bloody hell hope I dont have to rip that all out?

Ok Thanks all I have fixed the problem!!!!!

Very embarrassed right now :peep: I had the connector back to front didn't see the very faint arrow and didn't think it would be a one way connector.
As usual things usually work when fitted properly!!:tsk:

Ok going back to lifting heavy things!!

What a twit!!!!
