Been a bit quiet lately as had a bit of other stuff to do.
Waiting on braided lines to get here for the bottles. Had to get them on ebay as went to three different gas places and they were of no help. The one in the catalogue all were 900 long and i needed 950 minimum, ebay had them at 1m which is perfect.
still have the vents to fit to the box and the tap., carpet the floor and make a cover for the lock to stop the water getting in.Then the missus mentioned shelves for the cupboard!!!! And i am looking at the microwave oven going what a waste of space :) would be great to build a really good place for plates and bowls etc. Stay tuned may have a new microwave oven for sale soon :)

Welcome back stranger ;)
The "Boss" would have my right and left ones if I removed the microwave LOL.... Got a similar issue to what you had with your water tap. Had the water leaks fixed and ended up getting no water to the water heater :o
Had a brief look at it last week but due to the slight mishap with the back couldn't stay under the van for too long. Taking it back tomorrow to get looked at after towing it to Caravanland to get measured and sorted for the ESC fitting

Hi Mate what a day last minute rush shopping etc all the stuff you forget back the van on and the Breakaway battery starts yelping at me low battery so just plugged an old charger in the pin and see if that charges? The lights on so maybe ? hopefully no magic smoke. I believe the Car should also charge it but obviously not I will look into on the trip. So off at 4.30 am which will be 5am but told them all if where not gone by 5am we dont leave till 10am not spending all morning stuck in traffic on the freeway!! or Midland. So going the coastal route to Gero. Gets us out of traffic quicker and less hills :) Hopefully a nice tailwind :)

Should camp somewhere just south of Carnarvon depending on circumstances.

Will do apparently there is a small hill I may get reception so will see if I can post from the Phone. ( If I am not to comfortable in my deckchair:) $.30 am start to not get caught up in Traffic . So I bid farewell and this is the true test of the old girl. Already Im wishing I had fitted a decent inverter. But next month. See how the new Exhaust and snorkle handles the van.

Well Hopefully the snapper are biting as well because the missus didnt buy much meat as she said I would catch it. Well I think I will have to probably catch a goat because I am a shithouse fisherman :):)

Enjoy yourselves I will be :)

Massive day left at 4.45am got to New Beach 30km south of Carnarvon at 4.20pm. Last pa4t had a bit of headwind and was 33C car was a bit sluggish and chewed the juice. 395km out of the main tank!! 450km out of the first tank. 18.2km per 100ks for the first tank not sure what the 2nd one works out to till I fill up.
Anyway enjoying a cold brew now and loving life.

Cant seem to upload a pic from the phone? Went straight to Facebook but not working here?

its the heat of the day that does it - the car would prefer cold air as it is denser and burns better
with it being hot, the air is too thin - use more fuel (not much, but enough to notice)
also having a head wind wont help.........:(

I havent done a driving stint like that for years, too slack I think.......

Hi all back at last
Will get some pics up soon after everything is cleaned up. Overall a great trip pretty windy at times but was to be expected this time of year although 30knts is just a tad stronger than one likes. Classic drive out into a massive headwind 260km out of a 90l tank I dont even want to work that one out took our time on the way home 2 days at Shark Bay and one night at Cliff Head (south) which is agreat overnight stop.
Van went really well stone stomper did its job perfectly not one chip on the new paint. It might need some minor adjustments though.
Camped at Maggies at Warroora and we had a bit of shelter behind the headland but decent sift dune to get back out which I was concerned about the whole time in the end I lowerd tire pressure to 18psi and drove out easy with a small runup. In fact I backed off a bit half way up so I wasnt being to hard on the van as I knew I had it in the bag.
On the downside I ended up with two really sunburnt feet and shins on the kayak as forgot to put sunscreen on them and my foot swelled right up then I got spiked on a couple of fingers by a fish and they got infected and my middle finger has been bitten by something and looked pretty ugly sore as shi# as well. And I got the flu!!!!
Only issue with the van on the trip is the Drifter is completely useless! Getting weird tank readings also reads charging when discharging and visa versa only thing that was acurate was volts and the time.
Also water pump playing up think I may have an air leak somewhere.? Sometimes wont shut off and air seems to be getting in as it sputters a bit when you turn the tap on so will go over all the lines but it also got louder?
Anyway time to clean it all up and put it to bed. Will get some pics up soon.

OMG.... after seeing that vid I am keen as to back there. Looked unreal!!!

:DI take it you used rule number 1 for that toy from the "How to be a great Dad Bible" Rule number 1 in the Bible : Always use the kids to your advantage when convincing SHMBO to acquire the necessary toys!

Who was the good looking bloke in the chair? How flat was the water the weather looked unreal. A lot of full moons around there too hey! :bounce:

hahaha exactly my daughter wants acamera as she is right into doing video star and photography she wanted this cheap DSLR crap camera just talked her into the new Gopro4 Silver as nd hey presto I just happened to mention the quality footage we could get on a proper stable quad with a camera gimble Well now I guess I will be pinching the daughters GoPro instead of her pinching my old Gopro2's:):)
Have been going through the shed today to see what sh%t I can get rid of and made 1200 bucks in 2 days on don't be rude im not using :) so might get another toy soon. But the little racers I built ( for the kids) are so much fun and are for crashing and flying fast ( when im good enough) as there robust and the props only cost a couple of bucks. The new platform I should be able to fly 2-4km down the coast and back and into gorges and stuff. I see a Kimberley filming adventure soon :)

In regards to weather it was really windy a lot The filming was done early morning and only on a few days I think I could fly only 2 days during the day. 20knts was normal some days I think we had 30knts We had a great spot behind the cliff wind went over the top some of the campers really copped it. In saying all that I would be back there tomorrow.
I do need to do some work on the car and van as well Water pump is a bit don't be rude at moment and my left cars front suspension I think some bushings have gone?Need a couple of stands before I get under there to check it all out.

Just used rule number 1 on SHMBO after looking at the vid again. Things are looking up and I got the look that told me I might be in luck at Christmas:eagerness:
Sound like a lot of good times with the kids and racers.
Repairs - the joys of owning toys hey...it never stops. But it's well worth it though!

Pretty Hot and Windy in january maybe we should do a trip in June or April school Holidays get a group going from here? We could all help each other out but honestly if you own a Landcruiser its not hard maybe for one of them Yankee jobs might not fare so well :):):)

This link is a test let me know if it works
We have been going up every April school holidays since 2007, how every we stay in coral bay itself. still can get the windy weather. Wasn't too bad this year, but there were a few days that were blowey.
It's a beautiful place.

Went to Coral Bay once for some medical supplies, Was so crowded )( Like Cottesloe on a summers day) and the vans were all so crammed in I could not understand the appeal personally ! we paid 200 bucks for 2 weeks to stay at Warroora and that included kids and dog. But then again I hate crowds But the pie shop was great and imagine the Pub could be fun :)

Agree you are packed in like sardines. Peoples gives you a bit more space, especially at the back. We should have tried warroora while we had the swan. Now we are getting the 21, we wouldn't make it up that hill! ( even without a van I don't think the car would make it).
