Last weekends trip to Rosebud from Eltham, basically all FWY averaged 14.2L/110km, 2014 Territory Diesel Titanium towing a 17.56-2 OB approx 2400kg.
My usual economy is high 14s to low 15s.
It will be interesting to see what the upcoming Ranger Wildtrack will produce as a comparison.

My BT consistently gets 14.5 doing the speed limit towing and that's with gear also in the tub and not towing it gets low 9's around town.

At Christmas I did a trip without the van but swags, food and cloths etc for a few days in the 4wdriving in the High Country and I achieved 8lt per 100 from the Yarra Valley to Mansfield.

I'll be a happy with that out of the Ranger, especially considering my upcoming Half Lap estimated 17000km.

That's it mate it all adds up quick when you start cracking out the k's. (When are you going? sorry a bit off topic?)
If all goes to plan, leaving Melbourne on the 28th June (start of School holidays). Ranger due to arrive mid April so time to give it a good thrashing before loading it up! Unfortunately being a company car I cant do any mods other than fitting the controller, and a roof cage.
Got to talk to the guys at the proving ground to see if they have a spare set of 17'' rims and tyres rather than the 18"s on the Wildtrack.

Ok, on the way home from portarlington today. I did a direct comparison between my Terri, and my mates BT.
I was towing my 1756-2 OB, and he was towing his Starcraft 22 something or other OB. Both within a couple of hundred Kgs, but his is full height.
We both reset the trip computers once on the fwy, and travelled together to where we split to get home in Eltham.
His fuel economy - 15.3Lt/100
Mine......

12.6 :bump2:

I know it is anal and probably more than a bit OCD, but ever since my first car( 3 tone - black, white and rust 1962 105E Ford Anglia) back in 1975, i have checked the fuel consumption every time I fill up. It is a little game I play to try and better each previous tank. Unfortunately towing 2.7T throws figures out of the window on occasion now that i tend to pull around a house on wheels, but I find the Fuelly website feeds my obsessive side and allows me to track what is perhaps useless information to anyone else.

Aaaand i just modified the signature block to show the current figures and it didnt load - Buggerit!

Anyone know how I get the URL to stick? It is there when i save the changes and preview it, but the minute I post, it disappears. Bummer.

Also forgot to mention that when the wife drives it, the fuel consumption goes up at a rate directly and perhaps inversely proportional to brake pad wear. Keep telling her that trying to drive a car, that weighs as much as it does, like a sports car is perhaps the actions of a brain totally devoid of any mechanical knowledge or aptitude.

You dont want to hear what she said, but it does involve sex and travel.....

OK... first towing only fuel consumption figures, with the trip down to Lang Lang and back comprising around 80% of the distance covered in the tank I suspect. And it was stop start, 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears most of the way there, and a fair chunk of the way back. Final figures were:

68.31L for 515km @ 13.25L/100km.

I'm pretty chuffed with that given how much fuel I would have burnt crawling along the Monash.
