With factory sized 31's on the BT I used to get around 14L/100km towing our old 14.44-4 expanda.

Have since gone up to 32" BFG KM2s and now towing a slightly bigger 16.49-3 and my economy now sits around 15-16L/100km when towing (about 10.7L/100 when not towing). Pretty happy considering the larger van and aggressive tread and tyre size increase.

First trip, really short distance out of Hobart to Rivers Edge, second trip similar distance to Dover. Both times pretty steep up and over the mountains out of Hobart sitting on 100kph uphill marveling at the endless supply of power coming from the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L V8. Quick check on the old fuel computer and yep its going down faster than free beer at a wharfie's picnic. 23L/100. Going away for a longer trip at Easter in a less hilly direction hopefully will read better on that trip. Used to do about 17L/100 pulling the camper trailer so I am expecting just under 20 as an average.
Just as an aside Tassie is only a small island so a long trip over here is 200K's. When I finally get time to get over the big island I had better get a new tow vehicle first, but she will do fine for now gotta love a V8.

First trip was from Brisbane to Pottsville with a full load. Driving a Territory(petrol) and sitting on 90 km/hr got 17.2 l/ 100 kms. Coming home with empty water tanks 15.8 l/ 100 kms. In cruise control most of the way in performance mode which locks out 4th gear. Happy with that.

OK, after a few more adventures, running in and addition of snorkel and bull bar I thought I'd update the thread with my last 5 tanks of fuel which have included towing to Robe and back and some mixed use:

2,271km using 303L @ 13.34L/100km

I've noticed the van use is 14-16L/100km but I have been constantly sitting on 100-110km/h depending on the speed limit. I've also trialled using cruise on the freeway which from a sample set of one trip wasn't particularly beneficial. Ironically the fuel consumption is heading up, but I wonder how much adding the bar and snorkel has done to this. I think it more comes down to the fact I'm more comfortable with the truck's capabilities to tow at 3 figures rather than sit around 90km/h where the Pajero did.

I have a 2008 BT50 manual towing an 18.57 OB I did a 2000K trip from Gladstone to Albury via the coast and returned a economy of 17.5l/100 I also have the rapid chip installed and sat quite well on 100k/hr in 4th gear I was very happy with that lots of hills and stop starts.

While only a very limited example, I just got home after picking up my 17.56-2OB from its service. New Ranger wildtrack (2000km on the clock) and got 14.2lt/100. Mainly freeway 95km/h from Geelong to Eltham, but very happy with that.
