Spent a very windy day in Coffin bay national park. Then a very wet stormy and cold night but it beats the Qld heat!

Anyone heading to Coffin Bay before the end of July might want to know that one of the camping grounds will be closed from today till end of July to allow for heavy machinery to operate safely.

Hey @Dobbie, not all that great up here for the LWE, bit wet, bit cloudy, bit windy and while I sat out of the wind on the beach heaps of others were doing their thing and it was still a nice 24 deg........................................

Yellow and Red flags flying in a good breeze...................with dark clouds over Frazer.

As happens, she managed to stand up after I put the cam down...........

Flew in low for a classy landing...........not a misty lens just heaps of surf spray......

Tomorrow off to Double Island Point to do some fishing, I hope, should be able to find a spot with no wind..............

Tailor should be starting to run soon?

Glad qld weather doesn't change much.

I've scoffed at certain people who insist on diesel heaters for the south.....but I hereby retract any negative comments. I'd love one!

Another couple of months up here before the Tailor start...............................cold on the tootsies is self inflicted @Dobbie, hopefully the The drovers Camp will be out at Julia Creek at the end of month or at least near the Alpha pie shop.

Oh well.......

I saw a sign today for "grey nomad Murray caravan park" and wonder if there are more of these around.

I thought I'd avoid them if they breed.

Also....didn't get a photo but.....saw a van with a Segway attached to the rear bumper and thought they'd be easier than bikes. Maybe.

Also saw a mention of another "back to nature camping site" we were looking at and didn't want to risk it!

It looks like some sort of club...or discount scheme.

I've no idea but will stay ill informed.

On a side issue, we've noticed some of the "free" camps along the Murray now have fees attached.

Conservation camps $11 a vehicle per night. Others $6.

Have we missed something? Last year we found lots of totally free camps which were great...not so easy this year. It's not the fee we want to avoid, happy to pay, but the people. Just want some very quiet tranquil places.

We're in a caravan park at the moment....washing etc....and were just woken by a bike group who took 15 mins to warm their engines before roaring off. That wasn't quiet and tranquil and now I feel annoyed. I'll get a life!

We actually stayed at Skipworth on Thursday night. We got away late so it was 9:15 when we got there and it was raining and the boss wasn't keen on me driving the dirt road to Knockwood reserve so it made sense. About midnight we realised we forgot the spuds so a quick run back into Jamieson was required. We had a quick pot from the Woods Point pub. Gotta love the character of the country pubs.

The guy who used to own the Woods Point store was desperately trying to sell it and worthing as a nurse, i think, in Melb during the week. He used to fill up 44 gal drums of fuel in his trailer from a city servo before heading back to Woods Point on the w/e and then hand pump the fuel into those dirty old bowser tanks. All the locals would drive to Jamieson for their fuel
