Self appointed long weekend (Friday off) hitched beast up and took off Thursday arvo, drove through a down pour just south of The Gong, typical :dizzy: arrived Berry Showground around 4pm to clear sunny skies, woke Friday to cool cloudy skies but the sun soon broke through, Saturday with some what cloudy very chilly winds caught up with a retired work mate that now lives in the area when he dropped by, in the arvo bit of a drive round checked out Treat Factory.
The winds got stronger and rocked the van on more than one occasion the temps dropped even more so the heat cycle of the A/C got its real first work out.
Fortunately Sunday morning while still chilly the winds had eased off a fair bit other wise it would have made for very interesting drive home.

Sorry no pics

Ah the memories, my original stomping grounds, used to race push bikes from Nowra to Berry, threw a con rod out the side of my Norton heading north at Graham park, used to ride up to Berry on weekends and have a few to many in the pub (can't remember the name of it now) and yes I remember the cold as well, been 43 years since I left but feels like yesterday.

Took #1 into the Explore Australia Expo on the weekend.

Bit hit and miss, but the little fella loved the monster truck displays and clowns in the demolition derby cars. Camper trailer section was reasonable but the fishing stands were very "meh...".

Spent a bit of time walking around the main pavilion getting ideas for The Rock Truck. It's just an endless money pit of never ending upgrades if you don't keep it in check... Saw some nice Rhino platforms which I'll probably head towards after I get my canopy chucked on. There was one Collie on display in the ARB section which was pretty much where I want our rig to end up. Not OTT, but just a capable and comfortable tourer...

Did look at the Advanced ICE stand for integrated GPS/Map solution for the MyLink system. Thought it was really cool... until I saw the price tag!! Thats one expensive Melways!

As some of you know, we do pretty much our own home renovations (shout out @Lara ), so on the weekend I just about finished off laying the floor boards in our kitchen we put in last year (sorry no pics was too busy to take any.) So, leading into my w'end now tomorrow and Thursday, will hope to finish off the detail edging.

Oh, gotta tell you the food coming out of the new kitchen has been great too, Mrs Pace is a pretty specy in that department.

Pace.

Seeing we could not go away in the van the next best thing was look for a new one :) So I dragged Sarah down to check out a S/H 22.68-1 touring triple bunk.. I did not mind it although no where for #4 to sleep, the trundle idea was given a thumbs down. The kids did not really like the triple bunks. Also did not have battery, solar etc etc pretty stock standard just stereo and washing machine. The floor was very bouncy you could see a bubble in the Lino did not get under to look? Maybe a reason it was traded in :)
So I took my chance and dragged her into the basestations.. four bunks = 4 kids. The slide out is a lot better it answers the question how 6 of us can sit around a table and eat if its pouring. Also a lot easier to get into the bed then past the table.
Sarah is still not sold on the Expanda bed... It wont be a cheap upgrade either. Getting closer to talking her into one :)
We did think of the 20" Expanda... Although twins be in the same bed and would never sleep :)

Spent today out at Ipswich for the Qld Bagpipe Championships. For those of us who enjoy the pipes and drums, it was a great day. If you don't enjoy them, it would have been a hell of a day. :p

SWMBO was born in Scotland
My family is from the Highlands (Grandfather)

would have been a GREAT day

Having Scottish parents I was brought up with the bagpipes. Not a big fan of them but when I hear them the foot starts tapping!!!

Spent the morning driving around getting a few things..... Spent the afternoon removing the winegaurd aerial to assist with the next mod.
Tomorrow morning will be spent cleaning the 2 kilo's of sikaflex from the winegaurd mounts before refitting it with the new mod!

Spent the Weekend with the Caravan Club we belong to at Keith SA, drove down after work Saturday. The park is basic, neat and tidy, good ablutions, nice little camp kitchen with free BBQs. The sites are all good sized with some grass and some dirt. Would be a great stopover on the Melbourne/Adelaide run.

Yesterday we went to the "Alexandra Ute and Hot Rod Show"

It had been a couple of years since we last went and it was a great day once again with lots of money getting spent in town.
There was also the wood chop competition, very very skilled and great to watch.

I prefer this method though
