Technically not the weekend but on Monday the van was left in the shed and the BT loaded up with the fridge and swags. The next 2 nights were spent in the Vic High Country revisting areas previously visited and one we hadn't been to for a while.

@chartrock tell Mrs Chartrock we did Monument track both up and down :fear:

Trip report to come......if your interested :)

Hey Cruiser...... Small world. I've just got back from 5 days at Frys Hut. Great spot, awesome weather. Will definitely being heading back there soon.

I was blown away by how many people were up there on a "non" long weekend. Over at Fry's there was a group of about 40 Australian Off-road Campers on a get together weekend ... Bit of cash in that camp!

Dazz
We had an AOR Odyssey ZR camper prior to our first Jayco - fantastic camper - still in the family - son and daughter-in-law own it now - ten years old, still like new. A replacement for that would have cost just slightly less than our Journey!
Would have loved to have bought their Matrix, but out of our price range now.....

Stage one of parking pad for new van complete, should have been for the Panda but never did.
Mate arrived at 830 and we got stuck into it before the heat kicked in, then snags and salad for lunch.
So 20 mtrs of treated pine 21 pegs and 44 gal screws later, not to mention a fair bit of sweat

Looks good Bushie but don't the pegs go on the outside of the frame?

Nope not is this case, they are screwed together, having them on the inside will hide them once filled, and give me a nice straight edge to mow along

Cut our trip to Rapid bay over New Years short and headed home Saturday Maorning, before jumping in a fire car and heading into the Adelaide hills fire. It is pretty devastating up there, with many houses lost and a huge amount of scrub burnt. One of my tasks was ensuring that the Big Rocking Horse at Gumeracha was not lost, thanks to the hard work of a couple of appliances it was saved.

If this fire has effected any of our members, please let us know so we can give any assistance possible. And stay safe everyone near the area.

Not exactly the weekend but polished of what we started on the weekend, just a little fine tuning at the front to stop the gravel spewing out under the gate, but that will have to wait till our return.

Now It's clear. Thought it was framed for concreting not filling with aggregate (not allowed to call it gravel around here as son works with the stuff and corrects us. Similar to being lectured by a Carpenter on difference between wood and timber).

Yep I thought it was for concrete too. I was scratching my head as well. Looks good @Bushman

thought about concrete but would have involved a cut and fill to get it level and be fairly costly, this cost me under just $200
all up, though I didn't realize I ordered the wrong grade of ''AGG" till it as dumped  wanted the bigger grade, not to worry will still do the job.

Hope it's firm underneath, we have a gravel insert in our driveway, van gets bogged down if the wheel runs into it!

Yep that is a bit of a worry in a few spots, but mostly firm, going to hit it with a compactor later, other van use to bog down on the grass if to wet.

Bushman, I see you've got a new van coming. Going to be hard sliding underneath to start a new round of mods with a garage creeper on aggregate.

Can't be any worse the trying to get under it flat on your back on soggy wet grass, Oh well! can always drag it out onto the driveway

Great, I thought concrete as well. That's why I asked about the pegs on the inside of the timber, now I know.

Looks good @Bushman ... And I too was confused and expecting concrete!

Guess I should have clarified in my original post that it was going to be filled and not concrete, though if the AGG doesn't work out well, may have to re-think and run concrete wheel tracks.
