Finally took the Expanda away for the weekend. The Navara Forum had their annual muster at Janowen 4WD Park, just up above Cunninghams Gap. Enjoyable weekend with a run along the Condamine River 14 crossings track.

Did you end up checking out Gordon Country and Goomburra forest retreat camping spots?

Drove past them in convoy but did not stop in. The weekend was a bit full on to try and go back but I found the 25km back to the main road a bit of a drag so I probably wont go back unless for an organised meet. (hint :biggrin1:)

Here is a quick vid from Avalon Speedway on Saturday night. It was an invite only meet and some great racing. The weather spot on with no rain yet it was a bit cool.

We used to have a track only about 25min away (Newcastle Motordrome) until it closed down :(

What was the reason for the closure @Burnsy ?

You may remember driving past Avalon its between Geelong and Melbourne when you picked up your expanda.

It's just over 1 1/2 hours from place

We went out to Lake Beaufort caravan park for our long weekend for Ballarat show. I went out Thursday morning and set up before the wife and kids came out after school. The kids got a nice surprise when they got there because they thought I was working till 10pm but I took the day off. The weather wasn't flash on Friday and we didn't drown any worms. We had a roast in the weber and met @Graeme and Sue for the first time and there new Starcraft outback that looks awesome. On Saturday we went to Ararat for a tour through Jward which is the old gaol for the criminally insane. They let me out too before anyone chips in! Very interesting tour and recommend it to anyone going to or through Ararat. Dropped into Greenhill lake on the way back to look at the campground there. I know @Kenshi123 stayed there I'm not sure if it's free or if there is a fee but we will go there at some stage. Had a great weekend at my 9kg wood heater copped a hiding and the kids enjoyed the fire as much as me.

Friday/Saturday night camped at the Warri Rest Area (Kings Hwy) on the banks of the Shoalhaven River near Braidwood a popular stop over for travelers heading to/from the coast. Heavans open up Friday night, had a little chuckle to myself as I watched the tenters nearby struggle to tie things down.
Saturday clear skies so down to Batemans Bay to the Camping Caravan Show but not before dropping the pooch at Doggy Day Care, naturally the weather changed as we desended down the mountain but it did stay dry :pray2:, picked up some gas bottle covers from the Hose Bag Man though they haven't been put on the website yet. Lunch at a nearby cafe and a few extra supplies before retreving pooch at returning to camp by about 3.30

Sunday morning grey skies and bloody freezing winds, had intended to leave around lunch time but looking southward I didn't like what I could see "Darkning Skies" so a pack up was done and I stayed dry, arrived home about 12.45pm,

A last minute change of destination saw us going to Halifax Holiday Park located at Port Stephens, beautiful spot especially if the weather is good. I got to have a few beers with @hamish22 (look forward to few more at Xmas) and meet his lovely family, also checked out his Expanda Sport, what a great set up....can't understand why they aren't in production.
I had to take a shot of this couples accommodation.....what ever floats your boat i guess! ;)

The highlight for the weekend would have to be taking my eldest daughter (11) up for her first paraglide.....awesome experience...she loved it! :thumb:

Cheers.

Went to Halifax Park at Port Stephens for my Nieces Birthday. Had a mixture of great swimming weather for 2 days followed by some very ordinary bloody weather for the last day and a half. Got to give the young blokes beach wheelchair a real workout and it did the job for a few days of beach swimming. Sat back and relaxed Saturday night for the nieces birthday BBQ and fell asleep a little too early, lots of food lots of beer. Weather absolutely came down in buckets as we were leaving so all in all pretty lucky!
As for the boat not a bad idea if you want both van and boat and the sticker on the back said it all: Living the Dream!

Also got to touch base with @Burnsy and his family as they were camped not far behind us. Great bloke, Great Family with a very smart looking van, (big van8-)) and neat tow vehicle as well (love the colour). Got to sink a couple of beers together and also got to check out some of that neat barwork front and back!

As @Burnsy said look forward to catching up again at Weeroona and I really need to re acquaint myself with Max!:biggrin-26:

You people are all lucky. Up here it's settling in for the Wet Season, digging holes for concrete and cyclone tie downs for the van, supervising Builders doing extensions (with a sub-contractor who should have the name of Dodgy Bros), planning mods for the van before an April next trip of a truncated 360 (if time permits) and helping Son set up for a start of his own business. Who has time for trips.

We had a great two night stay at the old Grimwade town site which is only 40mins from home which means that we hit the road on Friday after work and are all setup and kicking back in less than an hour. This is our third trip away in the WnP and the first with the bike which is the real reason for the weekend away, just had the top end rebuilt so a couple of nice gentle rides before next ride in two weeks time when it will get its neck rung again... Any way this is a top free camp spot great for those with bikes and if you have a dog.

Cheers

Spent a lot of this weekend at the Melbourne Convention Centre, including 16 hours yesterday watching the cheer competitions. My girls performed Friday,4 times Saturday and very early today. The club received 1 fifth and 2 firsts an outstanding effort and a very proud Dad. Now to relax and enjoy what Melbourne has to offer before we head home tomorrow afternoon.
