Did the BT go through that or did you take the better option?
He probably would have made it, except his diff was like the front end of a dozer and pushed up a heap of mud which stopped him. His recovery point was too far below the bar, they ended up pulling him out backwards. about 4inches of nice muddy water in the patrol.Nice shots MolongMick, that mud hole looks interesting
Best to stay out of that MolongMick I would have gone around tooHe probably would have mad it, except his diff was like the front end of a dozer and pushed up a heap of mud which stopped him. looks like a great weekend Mick
Nice to hear the BT was up to it!
Any more mods/additions in the pipeline or are you happy with the current set up?
Yeah i saw the Arb sticker on the door and thought they might be a bit keen!4 inches of muddy water nice:doh:I was much smarter and went around, though it was muddier.
Great scenery in this area, soooo many tracks to explore.
Went for a drive on the tracks around Lithgow. Lost city and pipeline track.
The BT is a beast on the track, near unstoppable.
Ah Mate! I should have called you MolongMick. I was up there on Saturday too. Though i was on the other side of the valley in the Gardens Of Stone NP.
And yes the BT is great offroad. I got delayed behind a Land Rover group, and everyone had to get winched up a little rock ledge, it took forever. They kindly waited around to winch me up too, but rear diff lock in and a bit of right foot and i was up easy as. Should have seen their faces, priceless!
Here was our lunch spot overlooking the Wolgan Valley towards Newnes
Here is me heading back down the mountain, managed to get some air under the tyres a few times too LOL
Great fun!
The area is great for 4 wheel driving. The diff lock is unbelievable, pretty much allowed me to climb over anything.
There must have been a few landrovers in the area, we had some issues with one of them as well (the one in our group) had many problems climbing some of the tracks.
Will need to organise a day out. I will be doing Dingo Dell next week if you're interested.
Very interested, PM me some details if you don't mind.
I did the Dingo Dell area a few months back when i tracked from Wombeyan Caves to Jenolan Caves (the back way). Like you said the area i great for 4wd exploring.
In the High Country, its a bit closer for meWow. Sounds Great! I have that area on my list too. Maybe we should organise a BT50 day?!!

I notice the muddy patrol has not made it into any of the later photos.
