It was a nice day yesterday so I went to Pound bend and had a swim in the clean part of the Yarra! Yes there is a clean section.

Have cleaned van and put a cover on, for the first time mind you but hope it is on the road soon!

Today, back at work and wishing i was on the road somewhere!

On the weekend, after quite a lame bucks party Saturday night, I hooked the van up and adjusted the wdh after installing the hitch spacer. Spacer works a treat, van nice and level now. I also finished the bike rack And made a curtain to get dressed behind (SWMBO's orders!)

We did the Land Rover Experience day at 4x4 track at Werribee, was a great day and both of us got to do things with the car we not done before.
In our group was all Disco's, one Range Rover Sport and a Defender.
Sarah got a good feel for the car and honestly not sure we would of done some of the things they did if we went off road.
So gives her security we can do lesser things with ease.

That's a great thing to do....useful, confidence building....and enjoyable.

I did one years ago and can still remember the absolute terror I experienced with some of the hills with huge ruts.

Then we drove along the Finke to Palm valley....and it was all worthwhile.

Did the kids go? or did you hire them out for the day?

Left them with their Aunty a lot of other people brought their kids so felt a little guilty. They would of like the splashing etc and the free food as well as it was a buffet of cakes etc so they would of gone wild there :)
Although was good to do things without at least one of them complaining :)

Parents need some time off.....you did the right thing, I reckon, as you could concentrate on what you were there for.

:encouragement:

Hi,
packed up and went to the Gippsland Lakes Coastal park for three nights. Great weather, walked along 90 mile beach and enjoyed the views. It was really quiet now that the school holidays are over.

Started using my new chip burner. Boiling water is so quick. Pretty well mastered making bacon, egg, cheese, and mushroom muffins on it. Even did sausages, onions, and fried potatoes for dinner one evening.
Still a long way from doing the "roast dinner" challenge that @Dobbie set me. But I am working on it!!!

There are more details and some photos about the chip burner in a separate thread:
http://www.expandasdownunder.com/threads/chip-burner.9896/

On the way home we stopped at our favorite take away at Yarragon for chips.

cheers
Mike

Saturday, a known day for a weekend....................................took Yak out for paddle, some idiot got his tide times wrong, slightly dyslexic, ended up having to drag it for flamin miles across sand bars..........................................watch Bathurst drink beer..........

Sunday, another well known weekend day..........................Mrs D said get stuffed and stayed in bed at 0530, so took single Yak out for paddle, tide better, no dragging carried out 2 hr paddle across bay, impressed paper shop bloke with $3 worth of 10c and 5 c coins for Sunday paper, ash tray savings bank now empty....................................watch Bathurst and drank beer............................

Monday, infamous day for peasants to go to work...........I went paddling and fishing instead, paddling great, fishing usual failure, rods destined for garage sale.........................no Bathurst on TV, no beer left.................damn.

I keep hearing about people that do weird things like that

never seen it myself...............:apthy:

It's common for me... I even polished half of it a few weeks ago. I'll get around to the other half one day!
Had it out the weekend before, couldn't be bothered cleaning it when we got home as it was so hot!
Washed it with the intention of covering it. But it'll probably be in use Friday night as a guest bedroom!

I've just used Tutle wax as the van is brand new - no need for a cutting type polish.

Just wanted to add a little protection.
