I have seen on other forums, people are buying the uk version as it is cheaper. You are paying for that little sticker that says AGA Approved, but with that you know the Australian distributor has gone to the trouble to have it tested so that it meets our rules etc. We are very strick in australia and have tougher rules than other countries with gas appliances. I have read they have different pcb's on the au model. Without the sticker/approval it would be illegal for a gasfitter to install it, that would lead to insurance issues down the track if they eventuated. We are tougher in Victoria than the rest of Australia by the way!

So i am glad you got the au one and look forward to seeing the end result.

Decided I'm going to have a crack of doing the cloths line mod between the awning arms so headed to buntings and got the bits I need,

All up about $25 I think perhaps a bit less - all 316 marine grade stainless to inc the cable.

Never been good at the detailed right ups but here is a pic of all the bits ill be using.

Don't worry too much about the words. Your pics tell the story better than an Ikea instruction sheet. Love your mods, especially the Truma you fitted. Keep them coming.

Hey Zero, great work, how are you going with your Truma? I bet your looking forward to winter :). Any tips when cutting in the side of the van, knowing where frame work is etc?

Cheers.

Done Some more tinkering this weekend...

Something real small... Put some pinch weld from clarks rubber over the sides of the steps. Save the little ones if they come in\out a little to hot. and actually give a nice premium Finnish type look

Next up - Finished up the Truma Heater install - - Gas hooked up and holes drilled and covered for the cold air intake.

And last but not least - Some LED Strips - Two, one either side of the Table that can be used individually for reading etc. Used Warm White 5050 LED Strips, and Alluminium Profile to house them, two standard switched and wired them into the roof light circuit that are also now LED's so no concern over to much load by t-ing into existing circuit.

Nice job zero. You have done a really neat job.
What does the outside look like where you came out through the wall? I am assuming it is a small round vent.

Hi Cruzer - They were already in the van. In the overhead cupboards where the cables come down\up from the roof. You may have some. Something else I actually discovere here is in the same little box is where all the magic happens that enables the roof lights to be switched on and oof by that very useless witch by the door. So by changing the config of the wires in that box - I can very easily make it so the the switch by the door basically does nothing and the lights just like every thing else get power if the master battery switch is on or off.

As it stands - the power for the roof lights go's from fuse box (battery) to that junction box, then across the roof the the switch by the door and back then the lights - Bit of a long way round really.

What i'm going to do is take the switch wiring out of the junction box - this way the roof lights will get power when master battery switch is on - just like everything else in the van...

I will then extend the wires from the switch at the door - to operate the relay that my master Battery switch at the sink currently operates.

This way my master Battery Switch is right above your head as you come in or out of the van - Where it should be. I'm going to have to send some note to Jayco on how to wire a caravan once I'm done :)
