I am thinking of doing something different with that switch by the door also zero.
Where I put my slide out Weber I am going to install an extra outside light so it shines down on the cooking area.
I am going to use the spare switch for that.

Dropping her off for first service in the morning -

Items on the List:

Install Junction Box on the Roof for Solar panel connection - (we ordered van with Solar Pre-Provision but they forgot this part)
A Button on of the the cushions has come off - (two year old pulling on it no doubt)
Water Pressure when connected to Mains is Painfully low - cant even use outdoor shower
Bubbles on roof

Did notice a little spider web type cracking in the gel coat at the rear top corners of the main van body - not the pop roof - Won't mention it though as it doesn't look like there will be any issue, will just monitor it.

Seems I spoke to soon....

Took the cover off just now to hook her up ready for drop off at prestige Geelong in the morning and what do you know.....

The dreaded bubbling bed end lid.... Just front for now, won't even bother putting a pick as there are enough by now on the forum me thinks...

Not only that, but I have decided that I'm going to squeeze them HARD as I can for some sort of wheel and tyre - or at least tyre upgrade....
Might even get engineer's opinion if it comes to that, but I my opinion the wheel and tyre combo on my van is down right dangerous an in sufficient for the weight of the van...

Even when unloaded - and wheels at max (40) psi - if I bounce on the rear bar, I can get the rims to go down at least 50% the way down to the ground and still not even a budge in suspension travel...

Surely that no good????

Mine has that cracking on the corners, but I am of the same opinion that it does not warrant worrying about yet. Poor water pressure maybe due to stuck inlet valve, off trigger partially depressed on shower head also the assembly is restricted anyway. Water flows through a hole about the thickness of a match stick.

Dropped her off this morning,

Seems drive to Jacob in Geelong was the last straw after our Xmas holiday since by the time we got there, the rear bed end had bubbled as well ???? Mmmmm that's a little annoying really, I hope it doesn't become a regular thing on services.... I know jayco are great with this sort of thing and will replace them no questions asked but its not something I want to keep having to go back for...

Had a chat regarding the tyres to but it was a fairly young bloke and he preceded to try try and fob it off with a load of spin, but quickly realised I wasn't taking any rubbish so he adventually agreed that the bulging of the tyres did seem excessive for an inloaded van with max pressure in them, and this is fairly clear when you bounce the van up/down or worse left to right....

IMO jayco have definitely under cooked the tyre specs on this one... The combined max load weight of the tyres only just Match the weight of the van when unloaded???

Hey zero, re tires, if that's the case then they have no argument! I agree it would be a PITA taking a van back more than once for warranty work!

Hi Zero,
Just wondering if you had a wiring diagram for the work you did retrofitting the Xantrec and installing the additional switches.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Zerosecta, I'm a newby to the forum so please excuse my ignorance, the gas heater install looks great just 1 question, is the black duct / hose for the exhaust gases to the outside and the brown duct / hose with what looks like foil on the inside for the heated air to the van interior?
Thanks Zerosecta
Dave

Hi Mate, Sorry no wiring diagram

You got it right with the heater as you say - its the black one in the pics that actually both the combustion air intake as well as the exhaust and the tan\brown one is the hot air output

cheers

Got a few quick mods sone this morning before we head out to Robe first thing tomorrow morning...

First up, two 150mm tubes, one for tent pole, pegs, mallet etc. and the other for the spillage pipe, cut into 5 10m lengths with push in thread one end and push on nut the other so that you can Taylor length, depending on the site you are on ( saw this done by someone else on the forum,

And dead some little led lights to the main battery switch, water pump switch and outside light switch. Just a little easy to see indication that the switch are intact on or off..... My main inspiration for this was two things...
1 we often forget to switch off the outside light.
2 when I picked up our van from dealer after first service, found that the van had been standing there for three weeks with the battery switch on and both bed end lights... Thankfully I had replaced them with LEDs so the batteries only got down to 12.1v

And finally, this is now one one my favourite mods.... A few 3.4kg 3m hooks on the bottom of the bed ends and I now have my c-gear matt, annex matt, water hose and electric lead bag nicely hanging out of the way. Bed end lids close no problem

Nice one Zero,

Yeah we do the same store stuff between bed and hard lid. We store the clothesline, boogy boards(summer trip), 3 step ladder, anything flat really.

Safe trip, enjoy. Cheers Pace.

That's a great idea, storage between lids. Who would've thought....
I'll be stealing that on for sure! Thanks zerosecta.
