Dont know the answer to having the Setec and IC2500 on at the same time but I wouldnt advise it.

I accidently put the battery switch on when the SETEC unit was still connected and my Xantrex 240V charger through a wobbly and gave me a Fault code on the front that indicated an internal error and the Book said with this fault that it needs to go to Xantrex for support...

After two days of trying to get somewhere to send it to - I thought I'd just plug it in and much to my supprise and relief it seems to be working again - So be careful That said I think my problem may have been because the batteries werent connected at the time ... Chop :)

Hey Zero, looks good and you seem to know what your doing! Does this mean now that in affect your running from house battery even when on 240v for all your 12v accessories? I realize at the same time your batteries are getting charged however.

Cheers.

Hi Bursny - Ummm good question but tough for me to answer not being an expert, but, in theory when plugged into 240V what happens is the Xantrex (or any quality 240V charger for that matter) will start charging the batteries if required, then as and when you switch on any of your 12v accesories, the XANTREX will crank up a little to supply the amps the accessories require, thereby not interupting the charging of the batteries.
On the same token, once batteries are fully charged, the XANTREX or again good quality alternative will go into float mode and as accessories are switched on it will crank up to supply the required amps so that they are not drawn out of the batteries - essentialy the batteries should'nt even realise that there is current being drawn if the XANTREX is doing its job.

Clear as mud right? :)

This is why I felt it is important to get at least a 40amp charger - Otherwise with a 20 amp charger\transformer if you are drawing 25amps for toys then the charger\transformer will only be supplying 20 and the other 5 will be coming out of the batteries.

Disclaimer - I am a weekend warrior who likes playing - Not an expert in anything so please take everything I say as my opinion only :) .

One more step to finishing up on the electrical side of things (apart from adding a few LED's and 12v sockets and an inverter that is) :)

Got a Control Panel in (if you like) to operate key electrical options - Like charging Source for the Batteries and of course the all important Battery On\Off

Finally got round to tidying up the Plumbing around the water Pump under the sink and most importantly relocating it to the wall rather than floor, Now i can fit heaps more goodies in that space.

Love your work zero. I am assuming doing this to the pump also ensures the pump will be fully drained when you have no water in the tanks.

Thanks mate, actually what i have also done at the same time whitch is something i am relly supprised jayco dont do, is add a one way flow valve between the pump and the water tanks so this wont allow water to run backwards away from the pump and back into the tanks.

So to empty the pump, youd have to empty the tanks and then open a tap to let the pump - pump as much as it can out.

The advantage of this is that once the system is pressurised (pump turned on and all taps closed) it will stay thay that way with very little chance of any water water its way back into the tank putting air bubbles in the lines during the night.

Sorted the camper i had the same and i dont ever remember the pump coming on unexpectadly during the night as others have mentioned can happen.

I like your idea of the one way flow valve. You got a link of what you used?

Almost done, decided to put it at the front of the van behind the draw under the seat....

Tow reasons
1. That spot under the seat behind the draw is an absolute pain to get to and don't see that we would have ever used it.
2. The only other spot for it would have been in the rear boot but the problem with that is we have the external shower so the exhaust cowl would would directly next to the shower as well as a little to close to the rear of the van meaning that exhaust gases could potentially get into the rear bed end.

More pics to come but here are a couple taken with the ipad.

Is that the Australian model? They look good. Would you be able to hear it being so close to the bed?

Hi mate, it is an aus sourced model, not that I can see how human lives in other countries could be any less important than ours and such mean the that the same heater made for those countries would be less safe than the ones sold here in aus - just food for thought :)

Anyway - haven't connected power or gas yet so haven't had it running yet but I installed the same heater in the same location in our swanOB and it never bothered us in the least. Compared to any fan heater or combi aircon units etc. you could really say it is negligable from a sound POV
