When you remove the reading lights your left with 3 holes in the cabinet. Thought of a few different ways to cover them and in the end opted for led down lights. Probably won't really need to use them but they look nice and do the job.

Thinking of moving the tv coax point from the top of the rear cupboard and re-directing it to outside. I doubt we would ever use tv in that spot.

So I was told this week that my 17.58-3 has arrived and organised with Kathy at Jayco Sydney to pick it up in a few weeks. Based on previous issues I figured it was in my interest to inspect it before I pick it up - I mentioned this to them - that I might even come out this weekend, and was told "sure - come any time". I went out this afternoon with the family and my father in law and his disabled son came along too (separately). I live about 70-80 mins from Jayco Sydney so it was no short trip. We got out there and they couldn't find our Starcraft... We sat around for an hour and a half and finally they located it in the holding lot - which customer cannot access. So we then left having wasted a whole Saturday afternoon... Safe to say we are not massively happy with the result. Wife was ropable - even I was a bit scared of her! I am hoping to get a call on Monday grovelling and offering us something. Not expecting it though...

Not great Timbo but still worth while going to check it out if you can, for all you know they could have the wrong fridge in there!

Guess none of you guys have thought about moving that tv point. There is a cable run that goes under the shower and comes out under the dinette for the external 12v and 240v. Thinking maybe I can route the coax through there too.

Geez mate a tough call, there ain't that many vans in that holding yard? And what's with not letting you in? That's a new one.

Mate I thought about it after your post. for mine I'd go back under the cupboard under the van and back up under the dinette and out. No way would I try going under the shower but that's just me.

Yeah that was my first thought actually Jimmy. Was thinking to pull the coax out all the way back to the wheel arch on the drivers side of the van and drill through the floor near the battery and run the cable straight across along the chassis frame and drill back into the floor under the dinette near the wheel arch on the passenger side..... Ummm bit more thought and looking I think before committing to this one.

First time poster. Firstly, a big thanks to you all in this thread and others for the invaluable advice and guidance. We have just sold our Jayco Flamingo and decided to miss out a level (Expanda) and go for the Starcraft. We are getting the 17:58-3 road variant. Our order was floor stock so limited factory options. It's coming with:
· Spare wheel on A frame
· Snowflake antenna
· TV provision
· Large Fridge
· Roof A/C
· Tri-Fold Table – After reading about issues with the table and seeing the original, we decided to get them to install a Tri-fold.
Also got them to include the show special – a Waeco Portable fridge.
Picking it up tomorrow – Mon 10 Nov. Very Excited.

Mate you can successfully join coax to extend it using a crimp tool and f conectors.

Or you could this bit in the middle to extend the cable.

About $2 bucks from jayjaycar / bunnings etc.

Yeah that works expanda but I hate excess cable coiled up. You also increase attenuation by adding length and joins.

BTW what are people doing about protecting the pump and hot water unit under the main bed? It seems that if I put anything hard in there it might damage the unit when I go around a corner? Has anyone built a box? Or just used foam?
