Hi @davemc , Picking it up next Friday at 10:30 a.m., its current stock (11/14 build) so no window and has the sink next to the bed. Getting quite excited now, it will be nice to have a jayco in the family again. I am thankful for all the help on this forum as when I first started out we had our hearts set on a 17.56.1 then 17.56.2 ( both excellent vans) , I am pleased we explored this option though as this is the best option for our family.

Hi all, our van has a break a way unit fitted, when I asked about getting a monitor they told me that it came with a unit that works by WiFi and you just plug it in to an auxiliary and away you go, has anyone had any experience with these units? Are they ok?

Thanks @cruza driver, unfortunately our current van (not Jayco) cured me of new builds forever, fortunately the Jayco dealer at Orange NSW orders his vans with the common sense options that people would want. We even ended up with a couple of goodies we would not have chosen normally, the van was very reasonably priced for the amount of options fitted.

Yes. Mine seems to have lost its pairing. Would rather stick to the old wired version if I could

Has anyone had leaking down the bunk end of the caravan? I went to check the van this am - it has been raining for a few days - steady rain but not too hard - we have had the top down - and when I went to check it out the two bunks were soaked... can't seem to work out where the rain came in? Not the windows as far as I can tell? Am drying the mattresses out at the moment, but it could be two new mattresses from Jayco if they don't dry well...

Has anyone had a similar problem and worked out where the rain actually came in> I assume it must have run over the ceiling and then dripped down, but i can't see any wetness on the ceiling at all...

Probably the window seals had it happen on a few vans...

My front window on the 16:67-1 has a leak only under hose pressure front window seal. As above I would assume it’s the window seal. When dry use a hose and have a look.

The mastic Jayco use seems to shrink up and offer gaps as things move. I understand the mastic is better because it doesn't glue the window in but not sure about its sealing abilities long term. Thinking I might clean up the edges and reveal over the top with a silastic product?

Thanks for the thoughts. I just rang Jayco Sydney and tried to book in for the 3 month service - and to get some warranty issues looked at - such as the leak and a fault with the awning (arm keeps coming out of the track it is supposed to be locked into!) - they told me the first available booking is the 22nd April... That place is a complete joke and I really regret buying my van through them.

I'd like to think that Jayco Sydney getting negative feedback like this would help them improve. but to do that they would have to discover the internet... I told one of the salespeople there that people are saying all this stuff about them on online forums and they had not heard of any of the forums I was talking about (including this one). Sigh...

I used Paul Tall at Londonderry who operates an authorised Jayco repair and service business from his property. If you are interested I will dig his details out.

Yes - I have heard of him before. I have been given the name of a local mob (RVGO) who are Jayco licensed repairers - have left my number with them so will hopefully hear back sometime soon. If I don't I might just reach out for his number - either way, thanks for offering!

No good about the leak, I often wonder if the wait you have to get in the dealer for warranty issues. Is caused by there being so many warranty issues ;)

Although been away for a coupe of nights and only a rubber grommet on drop down table split. Better then last trip ;)

Hi All, just had a truma saphir air conditioner installed in our starcraft. So if you have height issues for storage as we did, as ours lives in our garage this may be a solution for you. Neat fit under the bed and works well.

Interesting! Have not heard of that model. How noisy is the unit - and also can you feel the vibrations from it while lying in bed?

In the 14.44-5 OB the unit is above the TV spot next to the door so cool/warm air can be directed onto bed end or the van proper. The compressor is next to the fridge at the other end of the van next to the ensuite and can get fairly noisy from the outside when it's hot and working hard. On warm its is basically only low fan noise. Glad the compressor is at the other end though.
