OK i'm feeling slightly rejuvenated after waking up in Brissy to find bright blue skies :)

We r planning on heading up to Noosa staying poss in Tewantin for a couple of nights, with the view off letting all the storms / floods / damage to settle before we start heading south again.

We v had the Panda shut down and no leeks or water damage were found, unlike the Como!!

Anyway i hope all of u out there caravanning on the east coast further south remain safe and unaffected by mother nature (the cruel woman she is!!).

Checking in at Noosa cvan park at Tewantin. I booked a 3 night deal via wotif.com (kids free). So far great customer service we were directed by a park employee to our site where he proceeded to provide me with assistance to reverse into our site!

Park looks good with an awesome almost 25 m lap pool!! Not that im an athlete ! Compared to the last week of weather this is what i was looking for !

Cheers mate

Noosa was great today got a late heavy shower over dinner and just continuing to drizzle. BUT on the plus side we cranked up the webber and had a ripping roast lamb and veggies!! Was only the second time i really got it going.

Im very impressed with rhe pool here at the Noosa Caravan Park at Tewantin. So much so i got a little to much sunshine on the shoulders :)

Chartrock which park would u recommend in or near the goldy / theme parks and the Cool airport??

Stan, the airport is at the southern end of the coast and the theme parks are at north end (except Seaworld). I have never needed to stay in a park here but I have visited the park at Main beach and was impressed while I have heard bad thing about the park at Helensvale (just off the M1) and Treasure Island is very expensive. If I was to recommend one or two they would be the Main beach CP and the Broadwater CP. Other members ,expanda and Holden-man have stayed at these and were happy with them.

We live about 10 minutes from Movieworld and Wet 'n Wild and use them frequently (annual pass). PM me if you want to know more.

We have stayed at Gold Coast holiday park a few times (I think the one chat rock was referring to) we stay there when we're doing theme parks. The highway noise can be a little loud but if get an ensuite site or big rig grass site they aren't too bad. The pool, surrounds and licenced cafe is the best we've ever seen in a park. The service is absolutely fantastic. The kids love this park more than any other. There is a jumping pillow, tennis courts. Half basketball court and bmx track and you can kayak/fish in salt water creek.

We have also stayed at treasure island, Tullabugera tourist park and billabong big 4 at tweed (not far from the airport) all of these parks have had good facilities with plenty of things for the kids. The plane noise can get a bit loud and or littlest (18mths at the time) was petrified of the sudden loud noise.

Hi Stan,
Like chartrock says we spent a couple weeks at the Broadwater CP and loved it. If you are lucky you can get a spot right on the water. Reckon you shouldn't have to much trouble getting a good site now schools gone back.
Really easy to access as well. Take Smith street exit and follow right to the water and turn left. The park is directly on your right. It has a couple pools and jumping pillow for the little ones.

Hope that helps.

Stan, this is the one http://goldcoastholidaypark.com.au/ It's almost directly oposite Movie World and Wet and Wild and less than 5 minutes to Dreamworld/White Water world. I can put up some park photos if you like on the weekend.

Just wanted to add that the plane noise I was referring to only affected the tweed park

Hi Guys

We decided to stay at the Main Beach Tourist Park. Great set up and not too badly priced. Totally recommend it to others. We dined at Tedder Ave, which is only two blocks away at a great authentic restaurant called La Roma. It was that authentic that they had a mature aged italian gentleman playing old school italian songs on his electric organ. He even plays requests (thats amore by Dean Martin) :)

Wasnt far from the theme parks 20 mins or Cavill Ave in Surfers.

Anyway we r poss off today and looking at heading to Lennox Heads unless u guys provide any other suggestions.

Cheers and safe travels to u all.

Hi all from rainy Ballina.

We left the Goldy this morning under storm clouds and travelled south to Ballina to find some sun. Guess what .... NO SUN!! And looking at the pending forecast things rnt looking flash for the remainder of the week!!

We travelled as much as we could along the coastline down to Tweed Heads Pottsville Brunswick Heads and to Byron Bay. Stopping at Byron for lunch at the iconic pub. The feed was awesome. I had the curry off the day whilst my much better half had a pasta marinara which looked amazing.
After lunch we meandered off thru Lennox Heads. I think the below photo is from the lookout from the south. Great views, pity the weather!!

Well we made it to the Ballina Lakeside Holiday Park. Nice park, great facilities but unfortunately we v been stuck indoors again and instead of appreciating the beautiful north coast we r planning on pushing south to chase some sun!! Fingers crossed :)

Hope everyone else is exposed to some sort of sunshine!! Till next time :)

If u get a chance call in there for a feed. Not too much else to do in the area but it was a good day spent with the mrs :) on the way back to our park we found the big prawn !!! :)

Hey Stan, check this thread out. http://www.expandasdownunder.com/sh...ve-exterior-light-lens?highlight=annexe+light

If your going to replace the globe with the flat 36's, you will need to cut wires and solder or you can solder on the adaptor end that comes with the 36 led panel then plug in. Another thing to consider, if your lense is discoloured it may pay you to replace as it makes a big difference with the amount of light it gives out.
This thread shows the flat panels used. http://www.expandasdownunder.com/showthread.php/337-LEDs?highlight=annexe+light

Cheers.

Thanks for the tips mate.

Selection of photos from our journey from Ballina to Port Macquarie NSW. I tried to upload some panoramic shoots but the were unsuccessful as the files exceeded the sites limits! Anyway

Lunch at Urunga
This place is a little gem situated on the riverbank we set up camp for a short while whilst preparing lunch. Heaps of fishos out on there tinnys trawling the waters. Quite relaxing really. The usual mozzy or two and some very adventurous magpies, who were waiting for a free feed. They were behaving like seagulls!!

image.jpg

Into Port Macquarie we sniffed around and decided on the Melaleuca Caravan Park purely on the reviews on Google. Can't fault the park at all. Great staff a typical Aussie family who have embarked on a career / lifestyle change in running a park. The park is 'very' neat and tidy. The Pool is awesome. From a one night stay is turning into a three day break. The weather has been great.

The pool even has a water slide. Although not like Wet and Wild still put a smile on this 38.8 yr old child :). Oh and the heavier u r (like me) the quicker u go!!

image.jpg

We ended up eating out on our first night at "The Fig" situated on the foreshore reserve. It got 3 votes from us. The steak and lamb dishes order were tender. After a bevy or two we ended seeking advice from the staff regarding a watering hole. Thursday nights in PM there is a bar which plays soul and funky tunes called "the pier". The demographics of the crowd were very broad. Teens to grey tops (who still act like teens ... Something i'll prob b like!!). The singer was no doubt the best singer i'd heard in a pub band! Why she isnt on xfactor is beyond me. Anyway we cabbed it home as def one too many glasses consumed!

Therefore breakfast the next day consisted of the following :)

Hi guys

Typing from the VERY serene Kiama. We r staying at the Big 4 at East Kiama. The only site we could find in town. I went for a little stroll on the walking trail to the 'blowhole'. I think ive just found a new 'fav' town.

Some pics of my journey;
