Took the expanda away last night to test out the free camping.
The twin batteries worked a treat and we had a great night by the fire
was a little cold but hot water bottles fixed that issue.

Great little spot just out of Ararat called Green Hill Lake.

Cheers!

Hi again everyone.

I haven't posted in a long time...sorry about that. Things have been super busy with work, homelife etc. All good though

I have been checking in from time to time and reading about people's trips/mods. Some inspiring stuff!

We have managed to get away in the expanda a few times for short trips over the last couple of months. The expanda is performing well and we have just ordered the annex walls in preparation for summer (booked in for a week at Port Fairy). I have had the awning replaced by Jayco as there was a scratch on it after I had it serviced (no arguments, great service!) and they also replaced my WDH as it was loose. I also asked them about the possibility of putting stronger gas struts on the roof as it was hard to push up. Once again not an issue for them. Thanks Jayco! Oh...and a drawer fascia fell off while travelling and was replaced.

Cheers.

Cheers @17triton things have settled down now and we are enjoying being parents. The cp is Robinvale. Great spot! Ebony loved camping and fishing.

I actually saw a triton pulling a 17footer just off the western hwy last week and wondered if it was you. Nice looking set up!!

Thanks very much @Coastrunner. Second battery works a treat! I can leave the Waeco going all weekend and not worry about running low on juice. The charger copes OK. The setec charges the batteries at about 10A/h, so if the batteries are discharged quite a bit I do need to keep them on charge at home for a couple of days to get them back to 100%. This suits our lifestyle as we tend to go to one place then return home. I had thought about installing a 25A charger, but I dont think that we will need it at this stage.
The weight of the second battery does worry me a little - I would love to get hold of a couple of LiFePO4 batteries, but they just seem too expensive at the moment. Hopefully they will come down in price.

Thanks again for the interest.

Cheers!

Park mate. Just for Ebony. Ended up at Lake Beaufort. Never been here before. Not a bad park. Basic, but not bad.

Cheers!

Hi Kenshi
Have just read from start to finish and it's been exciting to read! We are in the process of upgrading from the Swan to an expanda and I noticed you have the 150lt fridge with the microwave above it! Is this how it was in the plan? We are going the 14.44-4 and to upgrade the fridge to the 150lt the microwave has to go under the stove which we will then loose the pot draws which I don't want to do!!

Hi mate an welcome the forum. The 150L upgrade had the microwave above it on the plan. It's a shame that you may have to lose drawer space. Maybe consider one of the 16 foot models??? Or you could ask them to modify it to your specs.
Thanks for the interest mate.

Cheers

I was going to suggest there as well, we just booked there for Ballarat show weekend Thurs to Sun we have been there a couple of times. It`s cheaper to go there for 3 nights than 1 hour at the show. Did you take a fire drum? they allow them there as long as they`re off the ground. Feel free to rebook if you want for 3 weeks time.
