Spent a chilly & relaxing weekend down at Dwellingup Chalets and Caravan Park. Nice park but was busier than expected for a small southwest town but that might have something to do with a 4WD and a caravan club being there at the same time.

While down there the water pressure was not more than a trickle so disconnected the hose and checked the pressure from the tap. "All Good".... So looks like I'll be climbing under the van and looking at the pressure limiting valve and doing the spring stretch trick or calling into Jayco Caravanland and get one of their new replacement valves.

And the roof of the expanda behind the Prado blongs to @bigcol :) Thanks for the invite and was good to catch up with you and family again.
Had a visit from @Blip59 on one of his walks and called over after seeing the expandadownunder stickers on the vans.

I stretched mine and its fine for now, but someone mentioned they put a rubber tap connector washer inside to increase the tension on the spring. I think that would be a better option because i suspect my spring will shrink back to its factory length eventually .... or replace with anything other than the Jayco one :)

(GRMPS ??? Gramps or grumps)

Will probably try the stretching first and see if it makes a difference followed by the other steps (Scottish blood coming out in me 8-) )
GRMPS = Grumps but the kids call me Grumpy Old #### ;)

I too tried strenching the spring but it always seems to end up with no pressure again even with a washer in with the spring.
After two years and three of these valves @dagree I have decided to run the gauntlet and remove the insides of number three valve. I have given up on the valves @Crusty181
Just have to make sure before leaving the van to turn the hose of at the tap.:eagerness:

After the stretching test (If it fails) might have to have a word to a couple of our engineers at work and see what "fix" they can find!

Interesting because I even spoke to the guys at Galvans and they also told me that those valves are temperamental.
I hope your fellas at work can work it out as I would be keen to have the vale working as it should eventually.
Not holding my breath though

Damn. The washer was my "go to fix" if the stretch thing didnt last. Have you tried a Netta replacement, or any other (other than Jayco) proper plumbing supplies alternative.

I got mine replaced under warranty now reading this I really need to test it and make sure the new one works ,
Job for the weekend .
I had a replacement Jayco limiting valve ... and that new good better best one turned out to be identical to the broken one o_O

It was the new one I pulled apart and stretched ...... Call me "Victor the Predictor", but I sense some more, more, same, same in you immediate future ... followed by some spring stretching.

To be honest I have given up and I asked my local plumbing shop who advised that those valves are tempramentle.
Also they are not designed to be bouncing around under a caravan and he seems to think that is the main problem.
So not yet but I have seen some others at Bunnings but haven't got around to taking care of that job yet.

It won't be getting repaired this weekend as were off for a weekend away from the rat race.:eagerness:

Got one of the mechanical guys doing some looking for me!!!!! Will let you know what he comes back with.
The first "play" will be stripping it and looking for little bits of unwanted debris inside it!!!!
The numerous times I have disassembled our valves we have never had one bit of debri inside @dagree

Well the engineer did the usual and passed his task onto a graduate... Report back was "Looks like a well made valve... Can't see anything wrong with this one.... Why don't you try stretching the spring?" :o

So took his advise?? this afternoon and now have the best pressure in the van since we got it..... But lets see for how long?

After refitting and testing thought I'd check the water heater anode out of curiosity after 16 months..... o_O

Good old WA quality water for ya!!!!!!!

After remembering a slight leak inside the last van when changing one (and issues others have had on here with the lack of sealing around the water heater) I came up with this idea to get the water away from the van!

Any more pressure issues and the spring will get re-stretched, washer fitted etc on site and I'll do my own investigation on a new valve afterwards.
