Got home with about 30 minutes of light left this afternoon so being impatient (And getting "pushed" ;) ) I got the drill and bit's 'n pieces out of the shed to do a trial fit of the Jayco Bed Ends......

4. Get the wife to get the iron out prior to taking the first pics

All in all.... Very happy with the outcome and how they look.
Now to get out there and try them for real!!!!
I know they are called press studs but I didn't think you needed to iron them on! Lol hehehehe

These I like... Are these a Jayco latch or Big Green Shed... or other?

I to am interested in getting another one of these latches for the other side , My rear bed seems to be under more pressure than the front bed and several times when we stopped to setup it had come undone. One latch allows twist in the door slightly letting it come out. I think one on each end would work a lot better ? I am going to ask Jayco for one.

I was under the imression that the track fitted inside the hatch.
If it did, it would not be far enough away from the bed end canvas. The idea of a Fly is to provide a gap to prevent water touching the inner bed end and cause weeping and wet the bed/mattress etc
All of the flys I have seen are fixed in exactly the same way, the only difference between the various manufacturers is the canvas weight, the style of windows etc.

I didn't realize there was enough gap to actually fit a track on the outside of the hatch without hitting the body, live and learn. Mine doesn't leak, yet ! maybe the waterproofing has paid off, just need a bit of rain, actually need a fair bit my tanks are getting low. No town water.

PS: Just had another look at the pics, I think my hatch is not the same, will have to drag it out of the shed and have a squiz tomorrow.

Dagree just a quick question on your tool box . You have the standard bar ? I think you do was wondering about tight cornering as the 600mm wide seems very close? I have found a Rhino Box that looks the goods Just checking on this first. I dont want a full width box as will leave the bottles on the outside. I think it must be ok as Magga's has one and I will probably get that one.

Hi, I have just bought mine but not fitted yet. I see that you have secured the track to the outside of the lid. I've also seen the track secured to the inside. I'm not sure if you can imagine - I'm having difficulty describing it. Any thoughts?

@Stephen Galvin yes ours is a standard draw bar. Wasn't too sure about the clearance so drove the car & van down the drive and got them at 90 degrees to each other and sat the box in position.... Gives approximately 200 - 250mm gap between corner of box and rear of the Prado.

Lining it up by eye I'd say that a full width box would be a no go!!

@beecee ... All the ones I have seen have been on the outside and that is also how local manufacturers have said that they fit theirs.

I think someone on here found some tracks that fit inside but can not remember who it was. Might have been on the Expanda Bed Ends thread?
