Great fuel usage! im running at about double that in the patrol, gained more power with the chip and 3" but lost economy!!
You must be wrapped!

Canopies are always a good option......for some. I think we would always opt for this option as we always take the kitchen sink when we venture off. The pop out windows are a must. The company EGR make a lot of canopies for different makes and models of utes.

CD, curious, what are you going to do for the ute cover? 5 months on we are undecided still!

G'day Andrea I'm going to fit a tonneau cover I like the versatilty of the ute. This is my third one  plus I can put my motorbike in the back too if needed.

Cheers CD

Are you look at the tradional style or the no screw one. We want a soft cover but being our first ute we have been getting conflicting advice.

I guess it really bolis down to personal choice but I am going for the no screw one on this ute. I have had the traditional ones before that did work well but I thought I'd give the try something different.

The advantage of the tradional type in my view is that if the load is above the tub level it can still be stetched over the load and covered. I thought with the depth of the BT tub I don't think it should be a problem for us though

On a side note with the tonneau fitted I have always got better economy too :thumb:

The BT is looking good.

That Mazda tub liner looks like a nice bit of gear.

How are you enjoying the BT so far?

Well today I noticed the BT had 200km on the odo and thought it was time to lock it into 4wd. So another 200km later I was climbing up Polletti's track out near Jamieson in the High Country to have a look at the recently burnt down hut at Mt Terrible which happened just before Christmas

On a side not the BT was only drinking 8.1lt of diesel when arriving at Jamieson  I went from the Yarra Valley and out through Healesville over the Black Spur and as sme would know its a steady windy climb through there so I was rapt with the economy. This was taken off the dash of the BT as I haven't had to fuel up yet.

OK enough talking its time for pics  Sorry all (iPhone pics) I forgot my camera.............

And the sad site of the hut :(

When I left Mansfield I reset the economy gauge and when I got home this is what I got. I wasn't driving for economy and sat on the speed limit and maintained speed on the hills towards home.

Great pics mate, good to see it get dirty already!

Regarding the fuel economy, I've found my trip computer to be about 1-1.5 l/100 optimistic, a few other BT owners have reported this as well. You'll know as soon as you put a few full tanks through it how accurate yours is!

Cheers

It wasn't going to stay clean for to long  although its only dust but it was low range work and quite rocky climbs too.

I've also heard the same about the economy but I'll do a true reading on the 1st fill also to compare. :thumb:
