Nice one cruza. I don't know about you, but I can freely drill as many holes in a van as I please for my mods and feel comfortable to do so. But take a drill to a vehicle and all of a sudden it's like double, triple and quadruple check for me.
Your right Brad but once the 1st one was done it was all good :D

I went down and bought a brand new drill bit for the job though :thumb:

Well the mods are continuing I ordered a UHF last night that comes with a fibreglass aerial. I was looking at a remote head unit where you control it on the microphone which I had in the Cruiser but in the end I went for the standard set up and scored a great deal on a Uniden. It should be here in a few days.

This morning I ordered a Tough Dog suspension kit with 0-300kg rated rear springs and upgraded the rear shocks to foam cell to match the fronts. I also upgraded the front springs that handle a bullbar and winch.

I can't wait till the postman comes :D

Looking forward to seeing it with the suspension Cruza. The lift really suits the BT IMO.

Thanks achjimmy the standard suspension is ok, but nothing beats a lift :D
Looking like it is starting to take shape. It will be a great ride once the new suspension is in.
Cheers crackacoldie it never ends :thumb:

Another transaction since the UHF and Tough Dog suspension is a set of new Cooper St Maxx tyres :bolt:
After doing a bit research, ok a lot of research I thought I would give these ago. I am a big fan of BFG's and have always had a good run out of them but with the new development in these new ST's and positives reviews I thought why not.

The standard size on the BT at the moment is 265/65/17 and I have gone for a 265/70/17 which is 32'' equivalent. I would call them an aggressive A/T which should suit our touring/towing needs and High Country trips.

I pinched this pic off the web, not the best shot but anyway, I'll get some better ones when they get fitted.

70,000 km warranty Brad

Have a look here at the COOPER website mate there is a bit to read :thumb: and conditions too

CD, i know of these to be a noisy tyre. Guy at work has them on his new Dmax and the drone at 100km/h is howling, plus he has lost economy too. FYI, dont know how the BT would handle it and I dont mean to dampen your purchase as yes they are a very capable tyre. Pace.

That's alright pace9908 mate I'm use to Muddy's either way so the noise should be fine plus the body sound proofing of the BT is pretty good, but I do like the window down to here the induction noise of the snorkel :D

I wanted the new designed stiffer sidewalls for when we do outback trips with the Expanda on the back, the OE tyres sidewalls are like pushbike tyres ;) compared to these.

I had the ST they on the hilux, make sure you rotate them every 5000 to stop them from scalloping. I also had noise issues but otherwise a great tyre.
Cheers crackacoldie, I'm very fussy with tyre wear and did a lot of research on these new designed ones. If it was the old ST pattern I wouldn't have got them. Yes time will tell though :thumb:

A bit of information about the new ones, they are designed more on a mud tyre construction

NEW! 'SUPER TENSILE STEEL' BELTS

15% stronger than ‘high tensile steel' which results in higher impact strength and puncture resistance.
NEW! CHEMICALLY BONDED SILICA TREAD COMPOUND

This provides improved wet and dry traction and handling on the highway, while also improving cut‑n‑chip resistance in harsher rocky and gravel terrain.
RIM PROTECTOR AND RUT GUARD RIB

These are strategically placed in the upper a1nd lower sidewall area of the tyre to deflect objects, reduce sidewall damage, and also providing increased abrasion resistance.
ENHANCED SHOULDER DESIGN
ST-MAXX-with-all-colours2.jpg

Helps to maximise off‑road traction, due to its self‑cleaning shoulder scallops, while minimising abrasion and damage to the protruding lugs.

70,000 km warranty Brad

CD that warranty s not worth the paper its written on , way too many conditions + take them off road and you void the warranty , side walls are the softest they ve been and lateral cracking is occuring around the beads after 6-8 months of use . We are replacing so many coopers over here because of that reason ....
Just letting you know

Yeah I hear you mate, about warranty, as I do all my own work on the cars just showing Brad ;)

What about these new Maxx ones the sidewalls seem a lot better (similar to STT's) than the original ST's I had a look at them and thought all good and a lot different.
