Use some lock-tite on the nuts. I had Narvas and they kept shaking loose.
Not sure if these ones are the same, but the ones I had had a two piece mount, and one they shook lose the mount dropped off never to be seen again

After our last trip the BT had a decent load and the standard suspension did ok for the weight on board but an upgrade is needed, well thats my reason for a new suspension set up and lift :) I'm leaning towards either OME or Tough Dog at the moment.

Hi CD
How is the Redarc brake controler working out? I'm wondering if I stay with the prodigy P3 or go for the redarc (mainly coz it's so neat!)

I'm very happy with it so far, I've towed over 4000km's

It is a very neat fit which was one of my attractions towards choosing the Redarc. It is a little senstive to adjust until you get use to it but where the position is that hasn't caused a problem.

So, so far so good but a pendulum type is probably the ultimate and if I had a bigger van thats probably what I would get due to the towing weight. Thats not on the cards for us though as we love the 16 :)

Yeh, the redarc is very neat, but I am really very happy with the prodigy. I guess I'll have to find a mount under the AC

A new tonneau sits on the back of the BT and 20 freshly drilled holes later and it was done :) I did the usual eBay search and priced a new one from Mazda but ended up heading down to Tuff Tonneaus which is on 30min away and picked one up over the counter.

They have 2 styles one for sports and one without, and I think they do them with bungy loops too. The best thing was to they had them in stock. I chose the one with the aluminium locking track which suits the newer style utes and is a bit more suited to keeping the dust out.

The fitting kit came neatly packed in a box with excellent fitting instructions

I started with the side strips that are held in place with double sided tape once there location is measured out to suit the tonneau when fitted. Once its fitted you use the supplied template to drill and pop rivet the channel in place plus the loops for the crossbar.

The same procedure is applied for each side and the tailgate. Also careful measuring between the sportsbar hoop is required.

Once all the sides and tailgate was done I tackled the front strip. This took more care as it had to be exactly right or the tonneau would be loose fit and it relies on tension to be held in place. The front strip had no double sided tape to locate it and the ''c'' section had to be flush with the front of the tub. Once 5 more holes were drilled I put silicone under the strip before pop riveting it into place. This was a bit tricky as the back window was right there :roll eyes:
Final checks

Not much room for error

And the finished fitment, I was extremely happy with. There is also a security loop to padlock the tonneau to stop theft.

Nice one cruza. I don't know about you, but I can freely drill as many holes in a van as I please for my mods and feel comfortable to do so. But take a drill to a vehicle and all of a sudden it's like double, triple and quadruple check for me.
