I have a 72cc Baumr with a 24" bar on it and it's sitting on the shed floor, it leaks bar oil badly so I don't use it. Anyone can have it for a slab;).
Yes ... Id put off replacing the retired Husky until i needed one and bought the Baumr half to stick it up my brother whos got the 576 Husky. You now how it is .... "this ones just as good for 10th of the price, you got ripped" I milked that joke until the Baumr stopped working (not that long) ....

But i wasnt stupid enough to ever let my brother near the Baumr ... he would have quickly worked it out. Wound him up all via txt and emails

You get what you pay for with a Stihl or Husky - they just keep on going and cut through the hard stuff like butter.
I have one of each. Had the little Husky for a loooong time and cut some big things up (and down) with it. Bought a Stihl Farmboss 370 about 7 years ago and it is an absolute cracker. Does 3 times the work of the little Husky in half the time!
You do know you've been on the end of it the next day though :)
The Husky is now our Expanda saw. Used it a fair bit for firewood and making some fireside furniture too. Pulling out of Ada River Camp Ground earlier this year had to pull it out to get us out when a tree had fallen across the only exit road. Very glad I had it onboard that day.

Cheers,
Paul

When I rip out the Husky, unlike the Chinaman special, it never enters my mind that today might well be the day it aint gunna work.

I've had a Poulan pro saw for about 6 years paid buggerall for it ($250.) They are made alongside Mccolloch and Husqvanna in the same place as @straydingo mentioned earlier. Great value for money if you want a small to meduim handymans saw. I also have a sthil miniboss and they are deffinetly a step up in quality The bigger huskyys are still made elsewhere and apprantly better.

Well the 576xp is on its way to Brisbane, it has been a ripper saw but time to downsize to a more allrounder size for firewood duties as well as fitting easy in the back of the Triton when camping/4x4ing.

My neighbour & I both bought Baumr chainsaws off ebay.
Both run OK but leak chain oil badly. No warranty offered.
It's in the caravan boot & could use spray on chain oil if I had too.
Just might get out of trouble.
Cheers
John

Drum roll please........ Here is the new baby to take over all my woodcutting duties its a husqvarna 562xp! Mrs 17triton picked it up for me this morning so I haven't had a chance to fire it up but this thing just oozes quality. These are their commercial quality saw and while it is quite a bit smaller than the 576xp it is still a fair dinkum beast. It is a 60cc saw with a 20"bar and I will get a 15 or 16" bar for camping.
By the way that will be the last time I can put it on the dining table:eek-53:.

Forgot to mention I got the extended warranty from 2 to 5 years all I had to do was pay $28 for 5lts of their bar oil and they already throw in 1 lt of their 2 stroke with the saw so I was pretty happy with that.

Got some new goodies for the Husky today. I wanted a smaller bar for the saw to take 4wding and camping. It will fit in the front toolbox on the van easier as well as the Triton. The Husky dealer said this will be a beast of a camping saw with 60 cc and the small 16" bar. I picked up a spare chain, scabbard, file kit and ordered a soft bag to protect it when in transit as well but none in stock so I have to wait a month for that.

Is that saw the same one from May last year ?........It'still looks new, I wish my old Shindawa looked like that, it was on it's second chain by then.........it's in retirement now, only fired up for special events.
