Here ya go Peter,

A couple of side close ups.
image.jpg

This is the gap I left between van and toolbox.
image.jpg

A few pics of the underside of the gas bottle set up. The are really just two plates secured by four bolts through the original wheel carrier.
image.jpg

image.jpg

Here are a couple of picks of the adjustment done for the brake line. Note how tight it is to do this so that the gas bottles will fit.
image.jpg

Pic of where the toolbox was bolted to the original gas holders. I also followed the frame inside the box with tec screws. Note the square section and how I cut it out around the frame.
image.jpg

I had to move the tap slightly.
image.jpg

And finally, lid opened. Take note of the orientation of the gas bottles. That is important to let the lid open past the gas bottles.

image.jpg

I spoke to my wife last night about this and she mentioned that she kept the original docket from the toolbox company. This had all my original measurements on it. So if you want that also, I can scan it and you can use that also if you wish.

Well the weber slide out BBQ is complete and I am extremely happy with the result.

Here are a couple of pics before mounting the BBQ. The little dish is used for storing the pins from the lid.

And the BBQ mounted. Note the handles gone from the BBQ.

The last thing to do is to mount some brackets to the framework of the front compartment so that the long poles can hang from these instead of just having everything sit of the floor.

Brackets went up in the front compartment this weekend also.
Made a huge difference to just laying things on the ground. A bracket was welded up also for the front wall where the deflapper kit now hangs.

Cheers brad
is your rear bar standard as the 17 series is the round steel (not rectangle like yrs appears to be)
am thinking i will have to have a whole new bar made up so it can all work
Zerosector (i think that's right) makes them and sells them, they look really good
i can weld but not good enough for that Mod!
i am thinking now that i should just get my van delivered to your place when its ready and you could get straight to work on it!!!!!
it would save you having to answer all these questions constantly!
besides, you will be bored soon with nothing else you could possibly do to your rig :)

Haha. It has crossed my mind in terms of what happens when the mods barrel is bare.
In terms of the welding, my father is the talent in that area. I am better with wood and plumbing and electrics.

The rear bar came standard on the 18 as rectangular. I can't remember if you were waiting for your van still or you already had it delivered. I thought I saw a post somewhere that suggested the gal bar came standard on 2013 models.

Hi again
your right, i went to page bros today and the new model will have the gal rear bar same as yours i believe, so that will work out well

Re Tool box
I measured up a 17.56.2 outback in their yard and they only have 550mm between the draw bar and the underside of bed!
yours looks to be much higher than that in the photo!
Thats now got me nervous that the whole setup may be diff re draw bar sizes, gas bottle locations etc
i got in touch with the company who i think made yours! "the tool box centre" in oakleigh, it was where you described exactly, they are going to try and look up the info for me so thanks again for the lead
think i may just have to wait until ours arrives b4 i can actually do anything about it.
we leave 4 weeks after i get the van so was trying to prearrange as much as i could.

Yep sounds like it.
And yeas it was the toolbox center. I found the original order with the drawings.
Here is the drawing I did with measurements.
