right-o
so I remover the rigid digit and got my number plate & lights fitted and wired and working......
View attachment 25611
and also the reversing camera, and ran the 9600kms of cable thats supplied with it........
View attachment 25612
and finished my box, just got to load it with "everything" thats not nailed down or red hot.......
View attachment 25613

with "holding the box, I cut through the bottom of the box, and remounted the gas holder there, as well as putting in a "low" wall around t, so nothing would get caught up in any of the Gas thingys.......
View attachment 25614
and I threw in some carpet, just to stop stuff from moving around too much in the box........
View attachment 25615

as I said, now time to fill it........
have to dig out the "ball weight measurer thingy" and see what the difference is now (mind you I forgot to do it before I started, so its probably a mute point..
very nice big col just keeps getting better and better all this work on the van who's mowing the lawn ?

I was going to see a mate of mine, and get a joiner put in at the back of the box, and do a real good job
you know, cut the Copper Hose put a flare on the end, put a joiner through the box, another flare on the other end of the hose, then up to the regulator.
instead, he said, just drill a hole and mount it, and I will check it

which he did today - passed with flying colours.............

happy happy happy

I have been at it again on Gumtree...........
as you know, I have invested heavily over the years in the Polaris reversing Camera system.

started with the CM60 (I think its called) basic 1 camera & 5" monitor
$_10.JPG
$_101.JPG

then I found a black Caravan Camera and 9 miles of cable and a 7" monitor
$_35.JPG
$_12.JPG

then I brought the Wazza kit
$_57c.JPG
$_57.JPG
and it was missing 1 special cable, so I had to hunt that down

then today, I have brought MORE bits (need to work out the wiring first before I can fit)
its 2nd had, but what I wanted
$_201.JPG
$_202.JPG
Polaris Car Audio System.
Radio/DVD player,
Navigation
Bluetooth hands free
SD card slot
I-pod
Touch Screen
takes 2 x Reverse cameras

now the headache begins.................

The wiring connection is the easy bit... The headache is pulling everything apart and running the cables 8-)

:ranger: Will be waiting for the pics :photo:

well, on closer inspection of what I did get V's what should be there.........

din_cage__77477.1406331664.1280.1280.jpg MISSING

plus some of the wiring was butchered.......

he said "oh no, its just plug and play"

have to workout what wiring is missing, and what I have already
then maybe get it fitted in time for Xmas...........

As much as I would like to upgrade to an all singing, all dancing system the memories of installing stuff in dashboards or fixing bits is still strong, it's the stuff of nightmares. The old brown paper and rubber band wireless will have to do.

I am hoping it wont be THAT painful @Drover
yes it will be a head ache
yes there IS bits missing - still trying to sort what I need to buy to make it work

but, if I can get rid of the 7" monitor thats mounted on the console, and the 5" Navmole mounted on top of the dash - then I will be on a winner I hope........ less distractions on and around the driver

over the last 5years, I think I have sunk well over $2K in bits and bobs and mod's to the Polaris system I have
factor in buying a new - say Kenwood with the lot, then buying new Camera's and cables - and I will be well over that amount again.........

main problem will be -
if I have to rip out the existing wiring I fitted for the system in there, or if I can use that.
to rip out - I have to strip the whole interior, front & rear seats, Cargo barrier, false floor, interior side panels to get at it
not looking forward to that one

wish me luck................

the biggest wish is that I DONT have to take the existing wiring

once I get my head around the wiring, and whats needed, I will be doing Pic's as I go with the fitting
(just incase I need to fix something later one )

still looking for all the bits and Bobs I have laying around - before I start
