@Bluey I did think about having the wheel sit on the ground, but, don't want to create a highway for ants and bugs.
I forgot to pickup the number plate lights today, so have to wait until Monday to pick the ones I want up.
The number plate will be on the right or left, cannot remember offhand which is legal. I think its left.

also @Bluey it only sits about 6 0r 7 inches off the ground, so if I have a tree or something behind, it can rest on that if need be

I used 90x50x4 angle for the strength
I forgot the "obligatory" side shot - tomorrow. I put the 90mm sides as the inside support / stopper for the upright
and put a piece of rubber in there to stop rattles......
and I used a Hex Head (allen key) bolt for the bottom hinge

only likely problem in the future would be the bar itself twisting, but it is 100x50x3 RHS so it should be okay

Provision must be made for mounting of a 372 mm x 136 mm registration plate to the rear of every
trailer so that no part of the plate is more than 1300 mm above the ground.

No mention of side location???????

need a 350mm bracket to lift it up that far......
maybe behind where ever I mount the number plate.........then I can run the cables for the plate lights with the camera cable.......

LMAO... They're more interested in getting people for doing 105 kmh in 100 zones than checking number plate locations etc.
Then again the "Kimbie Kops" out there probably wouldn't even know what the regs are for locations of the number plates 8-)

I put mine on the right and the camera is just above it may move the camera later just easier to run the wires there. I thought about wheel resting on ground but ladder for bugs as well as it may jam with a bit of van movement, using the shocky mount as a hinge should lesson any stress.

nice rear bar mod. What I find amusing in the pic with the spare hinged down is the sledge hammer in shot. Didn't need that much persuading did it.
