All's good @Bluey ... All cabling hidden and no damage to any panel removed from dash all the way to the rear door and all were reinstalled without issue :)

so far - that Polaris system is on hold....... too many headaches looking at it
a mate of mine (he is in Avionics's so wiring is his game......) was going to come over last week, but he was sidetracted by work, so it can wait

however, I have been busy

I think @Marv_mart was asking about these catches - I finally fitted it up, so now I have 2 of them on the rear bed..... dont want nasty surprises when loading the Van up.......

then the Bed flies...................
O M G
what a stuff around they have been

as per further back in this tale of woe, they are a smidgen too short (first batch of Chinese Jayco quality)
then, as people have been fitting them, and finding better ways, I am stuck with how they are, as to remove and re-place will leave holes etc and I dont want that, more than I want the sodding things to sit right

so I sat and thought about it.........
answer - velcro - that natty little product invented in 1948 by the Swiss electrical engineer George de Mestral.

so off I tootle to my local friendly Camping place (Hayway Hire, Gt Northern Hwy Middle Swan - blatant plug I know, but they are great, and do sewing and canvas / vinyl repairs)
so I get them to sew Velcro onto the ends of the BEF (Bloody Effing Fings.......)

take out the press studs, apply the velcro to the Van, re-attach the press studs, and
YOU BEAUTY - they work fine.....
we had a lovely Easterly blowing today, and they never moved once
so proud of myself at the moment

Alsooooooooooo.........

a few years ago, I was dragged kicking and screaming into Ikea........
I hate the place with a passion......... make you walk the WHOLE store just to get out again........
got it sorted though, pretend to want to have a pi$$ in the toilet displays, they escort you out.......... :)

but just before I was asked to leave, and never return, I brought this
IMAG0863.jpg

a roll of Patruli - (Swedish I am told for sandpaper with glue on one side)

so I stuck some on the steps to aide in entering and exiting without slipping

I have a rather large scratch on one of my cupboard doors because some idiot left the drill bit in the drill which was possibly hanging out of tool bag when taking gear out of van. The bride not impressed and haven't worked out how to cover it up.
I love velcro, next to zip ties one of the worlds greatest inventions.
Great mods @bigcol.

re scratch , you can buy special crayons to colour in furniture scratches , have use one at home on the kitchen cupboard after banging the dishwasher into it on install. worked a treat. Even think i saw the crayons at jayco dandy factory shop, or it may have been page bros seaford. maybe give jayco head office a call they may have one to match your interior. if that helps.

After seeing the Smerglings slip a few times on this (we ban shoes in the van, so they have sock on generally) and smack shins/elbows/heads on various things, this could be a good thing. Was just going to cut a rubber door mat to size by this might be lighter and less prone to moving...
