No problems. I am confident we will get it in. We have 3 sites side by side and we are leaving our cars at a house in the infield so we should have room. As long as I can get my swing open rear bumper out then we should be all good.

Ahh 3 sites... awesome stuff then. Very jealous indeed. Will definitely get around to have a look and see the set up. Sounds like it's going to be an impressive set up. What's on the swing open bumper?

Hi guys,
I'm thinking of going next year with the van. what the best option to secure a site for next year???

Get in early.

Sites are offered (at least they were this year as previous) to those that had a site the year before. So the only sites that are available are from people who haven't taken up the offer again. For areas like the paddock, this means that there basically isn't any available when they are released to the public, but other sites do have availability.

From there, the sites are snapped up pretty quickly. If you don't get in on the day they are released, you are really going to struggle.

As for a powered site... more chance of me getting a drive on the weekend than that happening.

Just a tease for you all that are going to the race and looking forward to it. Went for a quick drive around last weekend to have a look. They're not in any particular order.
The new safety fence is complete on pit straight.

There's keep off the grass signs all around the track, here's hoping the cars follow the rules on race day.

Over the top, one of the best views on race day, love seeing the cars get loose up here.

Only been to Bathurst 6 times, but at least it was in an era when they resembled road cars not NASCAR's and the racing wasn't contrived. On one trip camped at the top with the Range Rover after the race you had the normal carry on from either Ford or Holden fans rubbishing the other. The Holden group came past and called out as to who we backed. I said that since this RR has a Buick motor we backed Holden. The left happy. A bit later the Ford equivalent group came by asking the same question. I answered that before the RR I had a Falcon XY 351C so Fords ruled. They also left happy but we were glad they weren't both there at the same time. Moral of the story, it can be advisable to be in a brand neutral car.

There's about as much chance of Volvo winning as there is of it snowing in Brisbane Cracka....... :)

Did you see the weather @Holden_man? apparently there is a cold front heading our way, just saying

My money is on Marcus for next year, he needs to show Murphy (AKA the grub) that he would have one! Murph was driving my old employer's car back then too, the boss was less than pleased

Hmm... I reckon they're a bit more of a chance than that. They've got the pace and if they can get some of their reliability sorted they could challenge. It's not about having necessarily the fastest car, but the most reliable bullet proof and spritely car. Good strategy and team work in the pits goes a long way also.

Do I think they'll win? Nope, but I reckon a driver like Scott Mac can make things happen. He's a jet.
