OMG its the space shuttle ready for launch! :D
I am very jealous and it looks like a neat job up there with the wiring too Adam:thumb:

But one question for you @adam 18.57.9 are you getting the 29amps though the factory wiring or have you upgraded the Jayco wiring to the batteries?

Skip

Good question!

the problem with the outback is that its too high for my carport, we also mainly stay on the black stuff, however the only limitations really is height clearance. i could not see myself dragging a 3.5 tonne 34 foot long van off road too far. the other thing with the outback is the wind drag. i am putting airbags on the van to raise it around 8 inches from standard when i need to go off road. since i have only had the van since mid dec last year.

Fair enough, just wondered. I haven't heard about putting airbags on a van. How does that work with your hitch etc. Got any links Adam? We want to raise our 18.57-5 . 4 inches will do me:). Was just going to undersling it again.

jayco have started putting them on the outbacks this year as a option. you can level the van with them as well. its more of a clearance thing if required. i have air bags going on my 200 soon, but they replace the springs and are adjustable in height from inside the car. it is a toyota option over seas, but not in australia. i mean i could lift the hitch up using the adjustable one on my 200 if i needed to stay up high for a while. so you want to go off road with your?? if you want to lift it

i have just finnished installing a auto changeover relay which is connected to the power points outside/undertv/kitchen area. i have a inverter installed as well. when there is 240 volt power supplied to the van, the relay is activated and switches the power points to the mains. then the power is taken away from the van the relay switches over to the inverter. and it does it all without you even noticing. that qucik it does not reset the tv or any electronics. just another gismo.

Just want it that bit higher for petrol stations and steeper driveways. The only off road I would do would be a short track off a highway up to the Murray near Echuca or Yarrawonga etc. It makes life easier for when I have to replace all the drains and fish tank quality water pipes under the van (and other mods). Even my wife likes the van higher plus it makes the annexe room that bit higher. Looking at my van it only has simple tourer suspension so I think underslinging will be cheaper/easier.

just looked on ebay, i think it would be better to put air shocks on the van. that way you could set the heights to anything that you want, without having to go undersling??? i am going to give it a go, i can pick up 2 pair for around $250 inc freight. easy to install. and single compressor to pump up and put down?? we also do the yarrawonga and echuca thing, never had a problem with it, but i am also going to put a couple of small wheels on the bottom of the back bumper bar. that will help with the servo thing.

I'm liking this!
Any links to the hardware?
I assume you just turn off the battery main switch if you want to stop the inverter running? (when storing van)

the inverter i run has a remote control panel, the link is here for it

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PROJECTA...=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43b64e8611

the inverter is hidden out of sight, the power wire running to the power points were cut and a changeover relay was inserted in its place, also with the output from the inverter going to the relay.

the relay has a 240 volt coil on it. the coil is connected to the caravan mains power circuit.

the normally open contacts are connected to the caravan power circuit.

the normally closed contacts are connected to the mains output of the inverter.

the common connections of the relay should be connected to the power sockets of the van.

the relay should be at least 15 amps 240 volt contacts, and must be double poll contacts, as you have to switch both nuetural and active wires.

when there is no power the relay has no power and the inverter runs through the relay and powers the power points.

when there is power the relay is powered and the inverter power is cut and the main power runs through the relay to the power points.

simple design and works seamlessly. you can have the inverter on all the time, and if power is cut, you would not even know it.

a relay and base on ebay would be on this link

3 zone audio system and drifter panel, connected to toilet waste as well for levels.
full media system media players and modems all running off 12 volts directly using a 8-40volt input to fixed 12 volt output inverter, which is top right with the small fan on it, next to the temp blue read out of the internal cardboard.View attachment 19675 View attachment 19676 View attachment 19677 View attachment 19678

Hi Adam. Are those fusion systems all the same? 700 series? Do you have three systems so you can run them individually? ie front rear and outside?

yep, one for connected to the tv in the rear to run the speakers in the roof in the rear. one is connected to the tv outside to run the speakers outside. the other is connected to the front tv, so that it runs the speakers in the front of the van. all connected to the headphone output of each tv, so the tv also controls the sound volume.

both of the inside tv's have seperate foxtel boxes, iqhd for the front and staddard box for the rear. also both inside tvs have seperate media players. the outside tv has a seperate media player and can connect to the inside foxtel unit. all media playes are connected to a wired network with 4tb of network hard drives for music and movies. then we have wifi connected to that, so the kids can access the hard drives from the ipads and iphones either in the van or in the car while we are driving, so we dont need dvd screens in the car anymore. overkill - yes. but it shuts the kids up on rainy days and it works well.

oh - i have recently added another system for the front inside. post some pictures tomorrow. its a samsung 3d sound bar with bluetooth sub woofer. as in a expander the speakers are in the roof and are useless while in bed. so this sits above the tv n the wall, gives 3d sound without extra speakers and sounds great with the bluetooth sub. just for when we want to listen to some better quality music or watch a movie in bed and be able to hear it better. it will mainly get used when we are out free camping along the river not too close to other campers.

also each fusion radio has ints own internal radio antenna, then each zones also has its own radio music if required. i know my kids like to listen to music while sleeping.

water filter system, near the inlet, so i can fill the tanks also with the system using just short link hoses.View attachment 19668
Just wondering when the filters should be changed on these water filters. The one in the house I change about every 2 years. I have the same type as in this photo and I empty it completely, when not in use, but have never bothered to unscrew the casings and see the condition of the filters.

i just normally open the filters are check the colour. as some parks have very bad water and some have great water. they can last a month for many years, so best to just check them every 2-4 weeks of travel. also you will notice a pressure drop once they need changing.

head to the roof just below the vent.
you can take the shower head out as there is a opening on one side of the clip. it is angled perfectly for a nice straight down roof mounted shower.
