As a few here we have the milenco as well, aero style. Easy 1 min install off and on and once set I have never had to "adjust" them on the road once. For $130 very very good value and next to no vibration that I can see.

Ouch, @Passionfingers ...........I just loosen a screw and pop the arms off in 2 sec, the door bit stays there, I knew there was a fine but that would really make me unhappy or P88d off, I wonder do they get you if you don't retract your Clearviews.........?????????????

After being pulled over by a officious policeman on the Nowa Nowa road on our trip to Lakes Entrance this year, when on a 38 degree arvo I took the wife and 3 yr old for a quick drive to escape the heat in the pop up and hopefully get the lil flea to have a short sleep, because I had already put my mirrors on for the 7 am departure the next day, done, $200 plus for having them on with no van. So the extra $500 for the clearviews is looking good now we are upgrading to the expanda and I dont have to worry about the vibration, the folding in when a truck goes past, or a nasty lil bit of revenue raising from a country policemen.
Surely you must have been drunk, speeding, abusive, swerving all over the road, talking on your phone, all of the above ...... I sure that our finest wouldn't attack a polite, otherwise law abiding person over their tow mirrors, and have they're embarrassingly petty behaviour plastered all over the internet. Come on, who did you murder?

Interesting question about the clearviews.

According the the law its an offenence to have towing mirrors fitted whilst not towing a trailer.

Is a clearview a towing mirror ?

The short answer would be "yes"

From the Clearview website

Clearview Towing Mirrors (pictured above), Australia's first full replacement towing mirror, are especially designed for towing caravans, boats, horse floats and large trailers.

I would like to see some young Police officer try and tell me they are illegal...........

he would want to be very clear on which part of the ADR's it is contravening

same same argument I had with a nice young Police Officer in Geraldton - tried to tell me that the driving lights (small ones in roo bar / front bumper) were illegal, and he could put a yellow sticker on my Landcruiser
first instinct was to say "F$^& off to$$er"
actual response was -
"mate, we can make a fortune for this..... fancy being able to sue Toyota, and the Gov Licensing agency for allowing an illegal car to be sold, quick, give me you Engineering Degree and I will get the Lawyer"
his response was (predictable) " on your way please Sir...... your blocking Traffic"

hang on @Crusty181 - this is not about Solar power packs you know...........
hehehehehehehehe

that said......

they are a Towing aid
they are Side Mirrors with the provision to be extended when towing

that is the part of the ADR's that was explained to me.......

After my mirror mount job got cleaned up by a truck I got a set of these and they are great, easy to just slip the mirror bit off when no van on back while leaving the main mount in position. Pic is from the Supercheap site.

Been using those for years but on the Pajero they are really starting to give the.........its, straps come loose when wet, the heads keep moving. usually the left one,

We use Milenco Grand Aeros - they're great!

Been trying to get a set of Grand Aero's no one around here stock them even local van dealer, all say we'll have to order them in, even went to a show on weekend to get them, very little in way of accessories, looks like I'll have to get them online or wait for Rosehill.

Yep that really sucks, I to have had the mirrors on while making sort trip, even went through RBT and no issue.
Now put your van on, take ya mirrors off drive past the same officers see if he books you, bet he doesn't, like he's meant too, seems (around here anyway) they spend more time grabbing people like yourself with the good intentions of doing the right thing, than they do grabbing the ones doing the wrong thing.

Got my set off ebay, for just over $100 I think. Turned up within a week.

Well we must be lucky (usually can't get anything up this way compared to down south), our local Jayco dealer sells the milencos so we bought them from there :)

hey @Bushman, my straps stay firm but the mirrors and bits after a bit of highly techo 'nail polish' on the screws and all is good. I have found that trees will throw the mirror adjust out though.
