You sure are having it tough down there. Just watching the news at the moment and similar problems in NSW and SA. Having spent a number of years in the Rural Fire Brigade I can sympathise with you guys battling the fires and I take my hat off to you all. :hail:

Also watching the fires down south on the news, nothing worse, thankfully our season in QLD has mostly passed. Ex rural firefighter I know the heartbreak. Need a new firefighter pump at my place, joys of rural liviing keep the pump in working order and the dam full.

Short stay at Warburton for us.
A while ago I picked up a really simple fire pit. Never used it before now but gee I wish I had have taken a couple of pics cause it worked a treat.

Apart from having a great weekend, j i think a highlight of the whole trip, was having a talk with my kids about rubbish, and the responsibilities of it.. whoever camped at mulguthrie before us left rubbish everywhere, there was all sorts of don't be rude all over the place, and I saw some of it had ended up in the river. The girls and I cleaned up over the weekend, and took big black garbage bags of rubbish back to town. It was spotless when we left, and my 10 yr old made the point that we had left the place in much better condition, then it was when we arrived. I explained to them that if everyone did that, we would have loads more places to camp.

One proud father here, hoping I taught a very important moral obligation well.

Yea too right @dagree teaching our kids is the only way the future can be better. If they can teach others to look after the bush and do the right thing, and those others teach others, eventually we might get it right.

I just hope we're not locked out of our national parks, stock routes, and beaches before this happens!

Spent the weekend at Woodman point Holiday Park with the Missus and our Daughter (Son was working) and our good friends from next door, lucky buggers got to stay another night we had to come home for work tomorrow, city camping has never been high on my agenda but we spent a great day around Old Freo Town dinning and taking in some of the Local Culcha! Highlight, Chilli Mussels at Joes Fish Shack, Low Light having to listen to...... no! endure the worst Busker ever the world murdering a tune in the mall!
