Yeah, HM...if anyone could find them they wouldn't really be that safe would they?
I don't even have a J, J or M (Mishka, not Monica) to point an accusing finger at, either.

PS: Maybe an extra, extra set of keys should be the 1st mod on your list in a few weeks time.

Yep, copy of keys now on the list. :lock1:

Mishka cops the blame for most things..... much safer than blaming the boss!

Got a couple of spare sets of keys cut this morning (could have had dinner for two for the price!). I've now turned into a real belt and braces man.
I'm surprised the original set and the spares haven't turned up already.
Anyway the Expanda's packed (including a new Weber BabyQ), hitched and ready to roll after breakfast tomorrow.

Swans won in Melbourne (wife happy), Storm won in Sydney (I'm happy).
Holiday budget adjusted to allow for the locksmith and the extra keys.
Looks like sunshine in Echuca/Moama this week, so fingers crossed.
Plan to visit the Elmore Field Days as well (for something different).

Have a safe trip Xpandafan, let me know how the babyQ goes, thinking of getting one when the van arrives.
Safe travels:wave:

Hey Jas

We have the Baby Q100EAU -has the high lid, temp gauge and continuous spark for $10 more than the Q100AU. Absolutely love it!. We used it over the weekend to cook for 4 adults and an infant whilst away. We cooked bread - pics to come in the bread post, a roast for dinner and toast, bacon and eggs for breaky on the breakfast plate that was actually designed for the Q200 rather than 100. On the breaky plate I cooked the bacon first and then put to the side whilst cooking the eggs. 8 eggs will fit on the breaky plate (10 at a push) and with the lid down take no time at all to cook. BTW - cooks toast pretty well too! Just heat the toast up about 2mins before eggs cooked in the Expanda's grill as it takes forever to toast bread and its small - i cooked 7 slices at once on the Q :)

Im not sure what size the front storage is in your expanda, but in the 16", the q will fit only with lid off and has to put into it from the inside. Im thinking that the box the bbq came in will actually fit under the dinette table... going to have a play and see if it does. If so, my plan is to put a blue tarp in a bag in the top of the box, that will come out first and go on the ground (to keep sand and stuff out of the box on pack up) then the box will sit at the front of our van. :) Well thats the plan.

Only managed home made burgers on the BabyQ so far but will try a roast before the week is out. That said burgers were as good as they get. Got same model as Ants I think and added the side tables and led lid light. Will try bacon and eggs tomorrow. Fits my locker on the 18 (I just lift the lid a fraction to slide past the jack) and cleaned up a breeze. Wife's quite impressed which is always a good test. Will post some pics at weekend. Moama has turned on some beautiful weather.

Thanks ants,
You had a pretty good cook up. Thanks for the info, really appreciated it. Interesting the 200 plate fits in the 100. The main BBQ we would use it for would be brekky and steak type main meals with the odd roast. Do you reckon the webber is the right type if barbie for that?

And Xpandafan, given your penchant for led lighting why am I not surprised you got the model with LED lights

Thanks for the info, certainly makes a tough decision between 200 and 100.

Mate, The Weber is spot on right for that. Meat cooks soooo good on the grill - you just can't F%&K it up. We have not had a dud steak or sausage. I actually use it at home now instead of the BBQ that I have as it just cooks sooo well. As for the breaky plates, the 100 breaky plate leaves you room to still use the grill if needed. In the shop i grabbed the 200 plate and put it on the 100 and it fitted fine with just a smidge of grill left to one side. I was not sure at that point how it would go due to air flow etc as it covered most of the grill but it cooks up beautifully. Heats up in no time at all either.

If steaks are your main meal, have a look at the size steaks you would be cooking to ensure which size Q would be right for you. I have mates that eat quite hearty size steak meals and I don't think that the 100 plate / grill size would be enough for them and 2 kids. The wife and I and my parents in law (main eaters from the weber cooked meals) are not big steak eaters. I mean, we enjoy a steak just don't eat big portions ( about 150gm), we fill our plate our with vegies and the like.

I would not hesitate in purchasing another weber at all. And would probably purchase one for my main bbq at home if I had to purchase again.

Thanks mate,
I think I will go the 200 based on your comments, it's not just me that likes a steak, my boys have hollow legs that seem to be getting hollower by the day. So as they get bigger the 200 will be the go I reckon.
Thanks for the help.
