We have found that the bed is not sitting right, off to one side so the locating bracket sits up pn the side of the timber frame, the double power point with usb charging point isn't fitted to its location (not installed) and with a bit of investigating i have sent an email off wanting to know why we couldn't have 16" rims. We were told they couldn't carry the weight so had to have 15" rims. There where more pic's in the email showing the rims are identical to look at but the 2 that count most are below the email.
Van goes back tomorrow to get bed fixed so we can use it. Power point, they are waiting on stock and will fit it then along with new towel rail which has a bit of a dent in it.
Below is a copy of the email.
Please find attached the pictures of the Journey with the 16 inch rims in question. As you can see from the pictures the rims the first 3 pic’s are of the Journey and the last 2 pic’s are of our Starcraft. The rims look identical except the ones on the Journey (16”) have a larger capacity. Journey 1100 kg, Starcraft only have 1000 kg capacity. The 16” tyres also have a larger weight capacity. Journey 1090 kg, Starcraft 1060 kg.
If you can let me know why there is an issues with fitting the 16” wheels it would be greatly appreciated. As you are aware this was one up grade we really wanted done when purchasing the van. As we have said we are planning on going away shortly all going to plan but would like to get this sorted as soon as possible, preferably before we leave.
Our Starcraft has an ATM of 2229 kg which puts the rims over capacity by 2229 kg’s,
Remove the 181 kg ball weight from the ATM leaves 2048 kg for the GTM,
This would indicate the rims are still carrying 48 kg’s over their max weight.
These figures have been taken from the documentation supplied by Jayco in Victoria.
