Anyway took SWMBO to Bali for a few days last week for her Birthday, yeah I know what a great Hubby (personally I'd rather be on the beach in the Expanda), but anyway the Duty free shop was calling me in particular the single malt isle, came home with a couple of bottles of Bowmore enigma 12yo very nice, a big bottle of Ardbeg 12 and a small bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail haven't opened that one yet,

Did they let you take all that through customs? What's the limit?

Been a while since I have been on here! Ardbeg Uigeadail, one of my faves! Recently picked up a bottle of Ardbeg Galileo, that goes quite nicely, a little less peaty and a bit smoother than a standard Ardbeg.

Half way up Greenmount on the Old Northam road there is a liquor store that always has a nice range of international beers and a few surprises in their range of single malts grabbed a bottle of 10 Y/O Aberlour there today very smooth and fruity too 29 deg on the back patio by the pool some quiet tunes and a wee dram or two contemplating an emotionally difficult day tomorrow

Cheers for your thoughts mate, a bit off topic but sadly said goodbye to a good mate on Tuesday who lost his battle with cancer, ironically on the same day that my dad passed some 36 years ago . My mate John and his family were there for me when my father passed and sadly he is survived by his partner and two sons who are roughly the same age as my brother and I were when we lost our dad

Bloody hell mate, that's bloody terrible :( very sorry to hear. Cancer is a bastard, I hope they find a cure soon!

Its "funny" the irony one can find in life ain't it? There's a lot of it if you look for it.

You just never know when your times up huh, my old man is nearly 50 and has already had cancer and a heart attack (non drinker, non smoker and fit as hell courtesy of military life).

My mates stir me up, saying I'm too young to buy a caravan... but you hear stories like yours and that is exactly why I do what I do.. what's to say that I'll get a retirement at all? What's to say I'll see my forties or fifties even? There's only one time in life to do what you want... now. As my pop says, Don't put off til tomorrow what you can do today!

That's a very rough day CG. Nothing said can ease the pain but maybe the knowledge that others are thinking of you can help a little. I'll bet you will be there to help your mate's family.

Like Peter says, time waits for no one. I hope things improve for you.

oh the joys to find this page
rather fancy a wee dram of the uisge beatha my self

storage is a bit of a problem as I have a few @Capt. Gadget - - usually take Glenfiddich with me though

a good web site to buy from is www.lfw.co.uk only brought from them the once (while in Scotland) and never had a problem

I have a large selection of "Collectable" whiskeys - as well as those that are for people to try
I have Johnny Walker (Red, Black, Green, Blue) for those that want to add coke or such (heathens get crap to drink)
I have Dimple, Dalwhinnie, Glenlivet, Aberlour, Ardmore and a few others I cannot think of at the moment- for those who like a wee spot of water or 1 ice cube
Glenfiddich 12, 15, 18, GlenMorangie 10, Portwood, Sherrywood, Cask 13 and others for the simple dram of excellence

also have the Peat Monster and some Bowmore (cannot remember if it was the Dark, or the Light)

I have been collecting for years, every now and again, I splurge out and add another to the collection

more and more in common @Capt. Gadget
