Pod I would have to agree that laphroaig is probably the best of the best for that peaty flavour. I also like Glenmorangie and amazingly so does Santa. I only travel with the blended as its cheaper and I can drink more. Merry christmas all you malt lovers and of course everyone elseNo contest, ladies: LAPHROAIG
If you haven't heard of it, try it. If you'd tried it and forgotten, forgive yourself, go get a bottle and pour yourself a wee dram.
You must be leaving Santa something better than cookies and milk!Just received ANOTHER bottle of LAPHROAIG from Santa. So damn predictable.
Only this time the bugger tricked me: he left the Triple Wood Scotch.
After I finish my Lark Distillery Single Malt I'll give this LAPHROAIG a crack. I know, I'm such a trooper. A good egg. A giver.
Hhhmmmm Santa must have had some form of backroom deal going on with the Laphroaig distributors..........I scored a bottle of Quarter Cask. Also added to the collection thanks to various generous family members; Tomatin 12, Ardbeg Corryvreckan, Ardbeg 10 GIft pack and a Lark Limited Release Cask Strength. I must have been a good boy this year!!

Well Millsy I lashed out and bought a bottle of the Quarter Cask while away at New years and must say after a couple of months of regular taste testing, that is a seriously nice drop so much so that in the next week or two I'm going to have to find another one
Tonights dram.......Caol Ila 12 yo, washed down with a Little creatures Pale Ale. Aaaahhhh its good to be finished work for the year.....counting down the days to March 1st next year!
Cheers
Shane
its here "March 1st next year!"
Thanks mate. Glad to have turned someone else on to a great Aussie beer! Its one of my faves, plenty of flavour. I like my beers with a nice hoppy punch.Happy 1st March. Now a fan of Little Creatures as well, thanks to you. Been good summer staple.
Yeah. Lucky we now have such a variety of exceptional local beers to choose from. Thanks mate. Glad to have turned someone else on to a great Aussie beer! Its one of my faves, plenty of flavour. I like my beers with a nice hoppy punch.
My only fear now is that Little Creatures have been bought by Lion Nathan, they're going to mess with it, like they do with everything else they take over!!
Millsy Ardbeg procured , tasting to commence shortly Cheers! Are you familiar with Ardbeg? If not, I highly recommend it if you like the Laphroig. Same style of islay whiskey, big, smoky, peaty....and tasty!
So what did you think of the Ardbeg??
So what did you think of the Ardbeg??
Nice! Very Light in colour a lot smoother than the Laphroaig and even though Ardbeg claims to be the smokiest & Peatiest of all the Islays I think the Laphroaig is smokier, Haven't worked out what a Peaty taste is yet so I might have to drink a bit more of the bottle to study that
