Just wondering if there were any other single malt lovers on here?

What does your collection currently consist of?

Do you travel with Single Malt?

What do you like to take on your travels and how do you store it?

Cheers

I enjoy Ardbeg, I enjoy the peat flavour and the 10 year old is my favourite.
It's a little high on price so I don't over indulge.
For a good session on the cheap I enjoy Tullamore Dew.
I go with the Irish whiskey to be sure, to be sure, to be sure.
I do enjoy some of the blended brands in moderation.

Cheers

Nice Bully! I didn't expect to strike another Ardbeg fan with the first reply to this thread! I curently have a bottle of the 10 yo, Uigeadail, and Alligator in the collection. Have bought a bottle of Gallileo for my old man for Xmas. I'm a big fan of peated whiskys.

Single malt is certainly to be enjoyed in moderation because;

A- The good stuff is too expensive to get blotto on.

B - If you want to get blotto, you're really not enjoying it for what it is after 3 or 4.

C- Single malt can really make you pay hangover style!

Slainte!

Hi Guys,

Fully agree. Single Malt is most definitely the way to go. I have a bottle of single malt that I'm saving for a special occasion. My Uncle from London came to Australia two years ago for Christmas, and gave me this bottle.

Tell me what you think?

Highland Park from the Orkney Islands is my Staple $60-$70 for the 12 y/o http://www.highlandpark.co.uk/shop/catalog.asp?class=core-expressions must confess I've only ever been privy to the 12 and 15y/o so could only imagine how smooth the 40 y/o could be alas at 920 quid a bottle I'll never know!

Glen Morangie is a nice drop too ooh and Bruichladdich ooh and.... ahh bugger it dont think I've come across a bad single Malt yet See what you've done, now I'm gonna have to head to the Pantry. As for storing while transporting I have a leather bottle box thingy that the Bunnings rep gave me which can hold two bottles with a divider in the middle One for the Bourbon (mixing preferred ) and one for the Single Malt (No Mixing allowed especially not with Coke Zero) now wheres that bottle!

Always liked Blair Athol, i am more of a top end Bourbon drinker. I have been to many of the micro distilleries in the great state of Kentucky! many dont realise that Bourbon is the most tightly controled liquor in the world, it can only come from one place, Kentucky!
I like Blantons which up until a few months ago you could only get in the US but it now is in the top shelf offering at Dans, only ever with a little water and ice to open up the flavours!
But im generally not super fussy i like the detination and well the journey.... i can take it in a rolls or a commodore if needed!!!
Cheers to that!!

That's how wars start, Laddie.
BTW Glen Morangie was my single malt poison of choice.
Certainly helps you to forget your troubles (and where you live)

Also a fan of the Glen Morangie, currently have an 18 year old on the go........

I'm also partial to the Highland Park. Had a bottle of 18 yo, that is now long gone :( Currently have a 1998 Highland Park duty free special.
In regards to the Bruichladdich, I've got a bottle of PC7. Now that is a ripping whisky!

The only thing that ever goes in my whisky is a few drops of water. I don't know why you would want to put Coke Zero in anything, it tastes bad enough by itself!

Blair Athol is one I've never had. I have been keen to try some of the top end bourbons, although I'm hesitant to cough up the dollars just to find out I don't like it!

Have a crack at the blantons, nice drop! It will be sweeter of course but a nice sort of burnt toffee finish
