Hi Mate,
If you have Micosoft office Picture Manager you can open the pic with that program & click the "Pictures Tab" at the top. The drop down box should have "Compress Pictures" Click on that. A new box will come up with options to "Compress For" Highlight the "Web Pages" one & press "OK"
The picture will now be a suitable size to upload.
Thats how I do it, but I'm by no means a computor expert so Good Luck................
