Going the the Caravan and Camping show (Brisbane) so no actual camping this time. LOL
@Bmhdg76 you will have to give a trip report on Gordon Country. We have stayed at Goomburra (main range national park ,poplar flat campground) before and found it quite good and just that bit cheaper then GC. GC does look awesome though. Do you get out there often?
Not as often as we would like @Antman, but we have been going there for going on 15yrs. I like the space and being able to choose where you set up. Usually camp at the Black cockatoo section. Not for the toilets as have seen cleaner in the middle of whoop whoop (we are fully self sufficient) but like the space for the kids to play.

Thanks for the tip on Black Cockatoo. We were wondering if we stayed there which section would be good. Have driven past a few times and looked at each section but by the time you get to either end you have forgotten which ones you liked. I guess thats not a bad problem seems its soooo spacious! We might head out that way for the long weekend in November due to G20!

packing the van for a friday arvo departure to lake tyres Vic. first trip away , turned the fridge on today on 3 it dropped the temp to minus one, ha it works ! Caravan park takes dogs and has open fires, which suits us. bit of fishing in the lake and ninety mile beach.
and if it rains, i guess we will be off to the aquatic centre or cinemas in nearby lakes entrance. The Water Wheel Tavern have meals not to be missed. ( they pick you up from the park so you can enjoy a drink or ten ).
Sincerely wishing everyone a safe trip for your adventures.

@macca is that the Marcus Hill one? If so might see us, we be the ones taking 2 hours to park the van as first trip :)
I looked it up and it says its at Marcus Hill so yes we will be there. Never heard of Marcus Hill before. Its a close trip for us as well except we have a ferry trip as well to get over but beats driving through the city with a van on tow. I will look out for you. We are in the van like in my Avatar and I have a grey BT 50. The site where the kids are fighting:).

Off for three days at McLaren Vale, south of Adelaide for the Sea and the Vines festival.
Winery visits linked to fine food provided by Adelaide restaurants and local bands providing the music.
Great time, drinking, eating and just getting your rocks off.
McLaren Vale caravan park is great! Will post pics next week when I roll back home.

Well I will be honest I have only ever seen it this busy at easter time! What's crowd. To be honest it was too busy for our liking. Speaking to Sue (Gordon) they were not expecting anything like the crowds that were there. Couldn't keep up with it all. The only thing she could put it down to was Creek to Coast or Great South East did a half hour special on them and may have brought the crowd. We are going back in the holidays but if it is as busy as that again we won't be staying long.

Other than that though, the property was tidy and everyone relatively behaved but the idiots in some 4wds cutting up the tracks for no reason was rather annoying. Just about all that were were still in 2wd and the bigger 4wds that respected the lace just ambled up without spinning a wheel. Goes to show experience and respect for the land counts.

Rant over.

Dave, I have never seen so many Expandas in a park at the same time and a couple brand spanka Starcrafts as well;). I would have liked the extra day, was just starting to unwind. There must have been over 10 Expandas. Nice meeting Dave his wife Sarah and their lovely kids. Nice looking thru Daves new van. He has a great set up and his kids were having a ball.
