Here is the new bus image.jpeg image.jpeg image.png image.png

While
Posting pics thought I might share this. I was lucky to be invited to go for a two hour flight in the RAAF's KC30 the other weekend and watch mid air refuelling of two fighter planes.
To see these hornets just outside the window was something else.

Thanks guys
So the new van has a loo. I dont plan to use it except for emergencies for the girls and definitely no number 2's!
I basically threw up just walking past a dump point at a van park once. In fact i opened the door to the cassette today to see what was behine door number 2 and had a bit of a reach.
That being said the van is second hand and the shower/toliet has a bit of the portaloo smell. I realise somehow i have to remove this cassette and clean it. Any tips or tricks a newby should know about before going in? I dont believe anything is in it as the sight glass was empty i think. Was a bit hard to see due to eyes welling up with tears while half choking at the thought of what may have been dropped in there.
And what can i do to remove the smell or will this go once the cassette has been cleaned?
I just want it all clean and smell free. Should they be stored with something in them when not in use? I bkught a few packets of satchels for it from bcf but i really have no idea when it comes to this new device.

@Paul ... My best advise regarding the toilet is "Just harden up Princess and do it!!!!" ;)
Nah not really... I have been in the Water and Waste Water industry for 40 years and have come across all sorts of "Toilet waste" new and OLD :painkiller:

You never get seasoned but you do learn to put up with others sh!ite o_O (It might be sh!te to you..... But it's my Bread & Butter ;) )

A serious tip though is to put a few drops of eucalyptus oil in the flush water and run that through the system before doing anything else. Let it sit for a few hours, remove the cassette, drain it and hose it out.
The sight glass you mention, if inside the cassette storage area, is more than likely the flush tank level indicator. Dependent on toilet make and model the level indicator for the cassette will more than likely be inside the toilet area on the front area under the seat or on the flush button. Either will have a series of LED's or a red/green indicator (Don't let it get all red :o ).

A tip for emptying..... Don't let it get over full and follow the manufacturers instructions when emptying. ie: DO NOT press the air release button while tipping the cassette..... Do it once the outlet tube has lined up with the dump point drain ;)

We have stopped using the toilet chemicals for the cassette and flush tank and have started using coles home brand nappisan (Now called Oxy Booster Laundry Soaker or similar) in the cassette and Eucalyptus Oil in the flush tank. The smell in the caravan is now more natural and sweet rather than smelling of chemical smells and it breaks down the contents just as good if not better!

After doing the original clean as mentioned above... Leave the cassette open and outside to dry and air for a day or so, then mix one capful of the laundry soaker in one litre of hot water to dissolve it, empty into cassette, shake and roll to the music of Elvis Presley ;) and let it soak for a few hours. Drain and flush then add some water with a few drops of eucalyptus oil, shake it and replace in van... "should" be no more probs :encouragement:

Cool pics of jets you lucky bugger, when I was younger I wanted to be a pilot although never studied hard enough :)

Yes I remember the Crusader from my searches seems very nice. Maybe it was setup for a Pajero as they need a low ball weight over 2500 ATM? not 110 low 180 I think? Maybe grab a tow ball scale I think mine was $50 on sale so you can check depending on loading you do not want to go overboard.
This scale looks better although more $

Read a manual WTF! hahaha
Yes I will have too as I have not looked at anything in there due to fear of the dreaded dry reach:o

The sight glass makes more sense for the flush tank hahahaha

Clearly I just need to set fire to this part of the van before something horrible happens

What a great looking van! Now I understand why it isn't on my saved search list anymore! :)

Interested in how you go with weights and towing performance as they are still on the list of possibilities.

So took the van in to get quotes for some extra windows for the oven, I mean bunk area.
Anyway after I removed my self off the floor coming home bumped her upto 100 on the highway. Still no joy. Ball weight still under 100kg so im going to make some changes . Battery is in the very rear hatch on the van. Going to put it (120amp) plus another one under the front bed. Then remove the wonderful tool boxes on the rear bar which fitted the baby q :apologetic:. Put the spare back in the middle and slide the bar back in where is used to be. Hopefully that will fix the issue.

Still havent removed the dreaded cassette to clean it :(

If you leave it any longer @Paul ... You'll need breathing apparatus and do a gas test prior to opening anything on the cassette :painkiller:
OH and don't light a match anywhere near it :target: 8-)
