Congrats to you also!!! I'm assuming you purchased through Brisbane Camperland like we did at the show. We haven't been up to make our final changes/add ons yet but looking to do that within the next month. Be interesting to see what they offer us with an annex.
Could you tell me the name of the person you are dealing with? The lady that sold us the van comes from Melbourne so we don't have a salesperson as such.
Was the annex a jayco annex?
Be interested to know more as I am concerned we won't be able to purchase one and we have some permanent spots we camp where we stay 2 weeks plus!!
When do you get your van? I think ours is approx October.
Maybe we will have them roughly the same time and do a weekend with the newbies!!
Thanks again for the info, Mrs Hoffy

Hi Mrs Hoffy,
Yes we purchased ours through the Brisbane Camperland at the show, ours is Sept/Oct, haven't been given a final date as yet... but we finalised all the extras last week, so it is being built now. We are dealing with Paul Shallen (we also purchased our through another NSW salesman)

We originally had the "Getaway Annex" at the expo, but I am not sure what the brand of the annex is that he sent us pics of (I will attach the pics, it looks "enclosed" to me!!)

Weekend of newbies sounds great!!

We have ordered a 17.56.1 back in March at the Melbourne show through Page Brothers. Bought a package which included the annex. We were due to take delivery mid July until we got the call saying Jayco not being able supply an annex due to fridge ventilation in the annex.... Was extremely disappointed as we searched high and low to get the right van with annex for our family. We were contemplating cancelling the order or waiting for the 2015 model which Jayco may change the configuration. Our fantastic sales rep Trevor Swift has been keeping us up to date with progress reports. We just received the call last week saying that the annex company Tebbs is willing to go ahead with the full annex. They are placing a warning on the annex saying something along the lines of "when fridge is being used on gas, the end of annex must be open....." Onus is now back onto the owner. Hopefully our new van is not to far away now........

@Buckleys !!
That looks like it fixes the problem!! Thanks for sharing.
We actually received an email from Camperland and Paul is now our salesman looking after us also!!
Hey what extras did you go for?? We were told maybe extra power points and external hot shower. Any ideas would be great!!
Where abouts are you guys from? Do you have any favourite places for camping??
We are very excited about the new van. We have a 2013 Swan OB to sell but can't see any damas as it has everything on it and only 12 months old.
Hoffy.

Hey Hoffy,
We also had a Swan - 2005 and sold it at Easter. We had good use out of it, but want to start doing long trips with overnight stop overs with no fuss. Also setting up in 30 degrees + with kids nagging we decided to upgrade!! We have only been carving for the last 18 months. Some great local places in Victoria - Nagambie, Ballart, Yarrawonga, Bowna, Swan Hill. Early this year we spent 10 nights at Eden NSW - Twofold Bay. Brilliant park, private beach, great facilities and good layout. Only extras we got with the van was an oven, wind up arial and the privacy screens for each bed. Also paid to have an extra window on on the front of the annex near the door. We are from Melbourne.
Cheers

Hi Hoffy,

Paul is great, hope you like him.

I just got an email from Paul saying the it does solve the new gas rules with that annex! But there are no skirt or windbreak on it.... Will let you know the outcome! Our extras are as follows:
Show Special:
12V Antenna
Fusion Stereo
21.5 Tv/DVD

Added Extras:
120W solar panel
Extra battery
Extra water tank
Extended drawbar
Drifter control panel
External shower with another external light above
Canvas privacy screens
Full annex
Annex matting

We didn't get any other power points, but I think that we would use the external shower all the time! (Especially with the kids!)

We are near Toowoomba, we used to have a camper trailer, but sold that so we are in the tents till we get the caravan (this is our 1st caravan) we are a camping family, really enjoy it (the kids LOVE it) We love going to Fraser Island, we just did Moreton Island (but don't know how a caravan would go there... getting there would cost you an arm and a leg!) We would love to explore the northern NSW coast, we have camped at Iluka (near Yamba) and LOVED it, so that will be a place we will go back to for sure!! WE also go up to the Bundaberg region a bit. Where a bouts do you go camping?

We'll I spoke to a jayco dealer today as I am currently waiting for my 17.56.2ob, he said as long as the annex has low air vents that allow the gas if leaking to dissipate and Leave the annex it's fine, he said that jayco are now putting vents in the annexes that require them.

Hope that helps anyone worrying about this!

Must say its a slight over reaction!

Hi Matthew, just reading you post we purchased a Starcraft 20.62.3 at the Rosehill Show pick up not till October but got the phone call today in relation the fridge venting on annex side. How did you go with an annex who through Jayco told us today we can not get an annex full stop offered to change the fridge to 12volt at our cost, just interested to hear how you went.

Regards
Jason

Hi @Buckleys (Mrs)
Got to chat with Paul today from Camperland. Told him I had been in contact with some people on here and straight away he said "the Buckleys"!! He started to laugh and said he didn't know if it was a good thing as we may start ganging up on him for things.

We are going up in August to do our final add ons etc. We look like we are getting our van in early November. We could of pushed it and got it at the end of September but we are booked to go away in the Swan and we hope to sell the Swan around then. Gives us some time up our sleeve.

We are definately looking at outside shower, maybe extended drawbar and other little things like outside tv points etc.
we are the same as you and want to be able to set up with ease and not have the kids driving us nuts while doing it. Have some great stories setting up the Swan. Can't wait for the ease!!

We camp Northern NSW. We go to Brunswick heads every christmas. That's one of our favourites, quiet and great for young kids.
We also go down to Minni Water which is just past Yamba. Beautiful national park camping.
We also love Cotton Tree which we do in the Sept/Oct school holidays. Also brilliant for kids.

Thanks again for your help!!!
Mrs Hoffy

Great thread guys. I have just put a please explain email to Bayswater Jayco in Vic, to see what they say. We are about to put an order in but have not been told about this. I don't want to have any surprises when I am handing over a cheque with a sizeable amount of hard earned in it! Thanks for the heads up guys.

Sounds like you have a good rep. My rep has not even mentioned it to us at any stage which is concerning.
