I did a very similar thing with our last van re the fridge power indicator light. I had a motion sensing fridge switch and wanted to be sure it was on so fitted a light to the outside vent that could be seen from my mirror.
Top idea

I like that idea, now an overzealous Transport Inspector will fine you for having a clearance light in the wrong position and wrong colour, lol........mine doesn't work on 12v so no need for light but I do have an indicator as the rear cam draws power from the fridge feed so if 12v drops off so does the cam........................

I see a lot of fridge trucks with the thermo king freezer units and they have a large green indicator light pointing the same way as mine. so I don't thing it will be an issue with any transport inspector.

Ha, as I hit post a vision of the green light on the fridge or the dreaded red on the fridge motor on the truck came to mind................but it is higher anyway............besides why would you be dragging a van down the road in the dark after Beer O'clock anyway.....................have been pulled over because of clearance lights, one was brighter than the others, I couldn't believe this bloke, I wiped the road grime off and WOW they were all the same..........................................., even went to have a go as my times were not correct, until his mate pointed out the big stamp stating QLD TIME, he was on NSW.................................so the over officious moron is out there, 2 number plate lights but one isn't as bright as the other, fined.
I digress , I am most impressed with your mods so far, keep them coming but get out and use them.

Received my fridge thermometer yesterday
I got the same one as mfexpanda has as it is a dual unit so I will be able to monitor fridge and freezer temps
from the one remote unit.
It also has an alarm function so it will alert me of gas or power problems if the fridge temps rises.

I also got a Valterra fridge cool fan with on off switch to help the air circulation in the fridge.
Should keep my wife happy as the lettuce should not freeze.

Where have you mounted the display and what did you attach it with?
It has magnets on the back of it but i can not find any thing magnetic to attach it to in the van.

I attached some of that extra gripy Velcro and put it above the fridge next to the solar controller, circuit breaker and hot water switch.

I decided to mount the fridge/ frezzer temperature display above the light switch near the door as I will look at it when walking in or out the van.
I used 3M stick on velcro picture hanging strips to fasten the unit to the wall.
I hope it stick ok as the wall I stuck it yo has a rough serface, will see how it goes.20160604_230631.jpg20160604_230503.jpg

The sensors are positioned in the fridge and frezzer using the provided suction caps

The fridge fan is just positioned on the lower shelf and i will turn it in on when I turn the fridge on.
I did stick some foam sponge tape to the underside of the fan unit as it was a bit noisy on the glass shelf.

As we are going to Alice springs and surrounding places in July I have decided to fit electric blankets to the 3 bunk beds in the back.
I had all ready fitted power points to the right side of the van but I needed one on the left side.
So I started to pull power points apart to try and figure out the best way to get power to where I needed it.
I ended up getting power from the power point in the external entertainment unit.
The CMS power cables and power points make this so easy. It is all just plug and play.

I cut the hole with a dremel and router bit and a template that I have made from a piece of ply with some foam tape on the back so it wont mart the cupboard.
I just held the template against the cupboard and ran the dremel around the inside edge of the template.

Electric blankets now fitted so kids should be happy.

Saw this water leak alarm at bunnings today and as I have all ready had 2 water leaks under the kitchen sink I thought it would be a good $17 well spent.

Just place it on the floor under the sink and when and if the contacts get wet the alarm will sound.

I saw these on sale at Aldi this weekend as well, was thinking I might get a couple knowing that it's likley that there's alway good opportunities for a leak in Jayco plumbing.
