Sounds sensible but a 7 pin flat would fit the 12 pin as well.

Would it need to be fused?

We used our Anderson on the van only for extra solar, wired directly to battery with additional regulator, then also used that Anderson for power for compressor so it had a dual purpose.

Our next van will definately have the fridge set up to charge via the Anderson ...and maybe the ESC...and I'm hoping we can also use for the compressor but I can't get definitive answers on how they'll wire it up. Plenty of time to find out and get it right.

Dave, we've made up an Anderson to cigar plug which is for emergency use only and it seems to work ok in the brief test I gave it. (It allows us to use the spare 120w solar to charge the second battery in the car via the 12v socket in the back of the car).

Don't know if that helps.

12pin has red arc to battery stop drain as well.. Might be worth doing not hard to do an adapter.
7pin original Land Rover plug so be fused as well probably only 15amp or something.

Was going to split with new Disco auto elec talked me out of seperate

I have made a selection of Anderson to whatever socket for those might need it situations BUT you don't want to run something like a compressor or other high draw unit thru 7/12/cig socket they will melt in quick time, not to mention the rest of the wire, fuses etc...............2 reasons a fuse blows usually is a unit is faulty or you have done something stupid.....................If you don't have an Anderson then clamps onto the battery.
I have an Anderson which has battery clamps on the other end, it's actually better to use for high draw as then wiring in vahicle doesn't get a hammering.

Kings canyon resort,
Great park and great views of Canyon. Trees around van would not let me get satellite reception.

Ayres rock resort camp ground.
Was one of the worst parks that I have stayed in. Facilities are old and in need of repair, we were placed on a powered site in the un powered area and it was a very narrow site. lucky I was on the end so I could still have my awning out. Power station was only a few hundred meters away and you could hear 4 diesel generators going all day and night.

Only had 2 small issues with the Basestation while away for 18 days and they were

1. Water tanks filling and overflowing when van was connect to mains water.
Looked everywhere for a one way valve but could not find one so I googled and found that there is a valve in the pump.
To fix this I removed shurflo water pump and adjusted the bypass valve located on top of the pump head, Just screwed in the small Allen head grub screw 2 turns.

2. Sphere Satellite not finding signal and not locking on to satellite at Uluru.
To fix this I sent Coast Rv and email telling them my problem and the model and software version of my IDU (in door unit, satellite control box) and the sent me an update file for the IDU. I copied this to a SD card, placed it in the IDU and it updated to the latest version and was connected to a satellite in about 30 seconds.
Apparently this needs to be done every few years as the satellites slightly change location over time.

The version I had was SSA-850 V2.0D and the latest version is SSA-850 V2.0G
To find what version you have turn the IDU on and it will be displayed on the screen prior to pressing the search button.

I was cleaning the van a bit more last night and I was putting some tyre black on the tyres and I noticed that the inner edge of all 4 tyres is quite feathered and worn.
I have done about 8000kms now.
The inner edge all look to be worn the same amount on each tyre. (about twice the amount of the outer edge.)
Dose anyone know what to do and what could be the cause?

Thanks for your info on Uluru and McDonnell's, etc as we are thinking of coming home that way in sept/October. Was there an alternative to the bad one??

No alternative, I think that is why they can be bad and get away with it.
When booking ask to be in the Fully powered section as that has some gravelled sites and has some sand dunes between sites and power station. You are also further away from the just rock up with out a booking overflow area and do not have to share the toilet block with 100 plus extra sites.

does it look like its rubbing anywhere...........?
is it the tread, or the side wall.............?

tread - your axles are bent
sidewalls - something is rubbing

Could be a wheel alignment issue. I have read similar issues with the independent suspension being out of alignment from the factory. Getting the alignment checked should reveal the cause.

If you have solid axles then more than likely bent axle with independent probably excessive tow out but a bit strange for all 4 to be the same.......whatever though go to a truck wheel alighner to get it rectified don't go to a dealer or a tyre shop unless they are properly set up for heavy vehicles or you will just keep going back and buying tyres.
