Lots of measuring and lots of double checking and I now have 2 solar panels on the roof of the Basestation.

I had to remove the original solar panel first to get to the junction box to connect the wires for the new panel using bluepoints, I also fitted a cable gland to the box as jayco just silicon the cable in
20160408_232706.jpg 20160408_234055.jpg

I did not want to run the cable from one panel to the other on top of the roof so I decided to fit a junction box on the roof for the new panel and run the wiring through the roof.
First hole drilled through roof

Juncting box fitted , sika flexed and wired up

Then to drill more holes in the roof for panel mounts
20160409_100537.jpg 20160409_100540.jpg

Fitted the panel to the roof with sikaflex 291 and peel riverts at front brackets and sikaflex and screws in to roof beam at rear brackets

2 panel up on roof all wired and ready to go.

Now just have to wait until we get the van out of the shed in a few weeks to check it all works.

Fitted a reading light for my wife tonight so she can read in bed. It is a LED flexable head unit. You can select a blue light or a bright white light.
I soldered about 2 meters of twin core flex on to it so i could connect it up
20160414_202613.jpg

I decided to mount it to the bottom of the overhead cupboard right to one side so when the light is on it will be shining from behind right on her book.
20160414_213230.jpg20160414_213243.jpg

I got power from behind the factory light also mounted to the underside of the cupboard. It worked out handy that Jayco use female spade terminals to join all their wires as all I had to do was add a couple of male spade terminals and plug them together and refit the plastic cover.

Light works blue and white.

Started to make a mount for a jerry can holder on the front of the bastations A frame today.
I did not want to weld on to the A frame or make anything permanent as I may want to add a tool box at a later date.
Used some 150 x 50 x 3mm rhs and cut it up to make up some angle brackets
20160416_121540.jpg 20160416_121552.jpg

Then welded the angle brackets to some 50 x 25 rhs as a cross beam and I welded some tabs to it to bolt the jerry can holder to it. I welded some threaded nuts to the underside of the rhs to attach the lower clamps.

20160416_162256.jpg 20160416_162324.jpg

Then i made some angle bracket to clamp to the bottom of the A frame
20160416_162536.jpg 20160416_162608.jpg

I have to complete the welding and have it galvanized and all should be good.

I purchased a Jayco factory style jerry can holder so this it what it should like when finished.

Another great looking mod as usual. I do have a small toolbox for light weight hoses but I could only dream of adding 20L + of weight to the towball.
Out of curiosity, what is your stated ball weight and have you checked it with scales recently?
I'm still struggling despite moving heavy items to the back and am now looking at heavier duty car springs and additional storage in the rear area when not taking the JetSki.

Yes. Agree.
I'd be interested in the weights as it looks like a heavy beast with all the additions.

You are certainly enjoying the challenges it offers.

I got a tool box for the front of the van
It is a HRD 50 ltr poly box.

I had to rotate the gas bottle mounts 180 degrees so the latches are now on the outside to give the clearance I needed to fit the box between the bottles. While I had the brackets off I welded some studs to the latches to make the lockable.

I also moved the mount for the regulator back a bit.

Before

After I moved it back

Box fits nice after doing all the mods so it could fit.

Looks great @Base23. How did you attach the box to the frame?
Thanks.
Have not attached it yet. I am going to use some 40 x 3mm aluminum strip and drill holes through the bottom of the box and clamp it to the mesh rack that it is sitting on.
Will post some pictures when I do it.
