Back from the long weekend trip away in Normanville. It was a very windy all weekend but we still had a great time.
Grey water tank worked perfectly, Drains flowed great and no water came back up the shower drain.
Will be taking the microwave back to jayco tomorrow to get that sorted.

Replaced gas lines with flexible hose today.
Makes it easier to check and replace gas cylinder and I think it also looks better than the hard copper ones.

I fitted these flexible hoses to my last caravan and will be fitting them to my current one. I was advised to replace them every 5 years. I am paranoid about bending and breaking the copper ones.

Ordered one of the squeeze box ladders that someone was talking about on this site and it arrived during the week.
It is quite clever how it works and is quiet small to store and handle.
I am making a box for it to slide into in the tunnel boot so it will be easy to slide out when needed.

Made this box to store the ladder in so it is easy to slide in and out.
I used some 7mm and 4mm marine ply from work to make up a rectangle box and painted it black, I also used some plastic 90 degree packaging edge strip on the corners and fitted some little rubber feet it.
Looks and works perfect.

I have always had trouble folding up the bed end as the support frame does not seem wide enough to go around mattress when it all folds. I had to always squeeze the mattress between the frame before i could fold it up. So I have changed the position of the pivot point on the fold out bed end frame and now the mattress fits between the frame when it folds.

I had to remove strips that clamp.the tent to the base to get access to the pivot point.

This is how it looked from factory. Frame is on the inside of bracket
20160401_222744.jpg

So i drilled out factory rivert and drilled a hole in the pole so i could rivert it to the opposite side of the bracket

Now pole is attached to the outside of the bracket

I then dit the same to the other side.

I now have more room and do not have to squeeze the mattress between the frame to start folding up bed end.

Looked around for solar panel roof mount brackets to buy but have decided to make my own to match the factory Jayco brackets.

Factory solar panel mounts
2016-04-05 16.15.35.jpg
The factory brackets are just 40 x 25 x 1.6mm alloy angle, So I picked up a meter length from Bunnings and cut 4 pieces at 120mm long and drilled 4 holes in each bit to make my own brackets.

Rang Jayco technical assistance and was advised to install the panel to the roof using peel riverts and sikaflex 291

This is what a peel rivet looks like and how they work

Now to measure and drill some holes in the roof.
